Furnace replacements for 1992 Bigfoots?

Hi all, sometime after I bought my unit 6 yrs ago the furnace stopped working. The previous owner showed me how to start it by pushing an ignitor button on the fridge I believe, then using the thermostat to increase the heat production.

I went to use it and could not for the life of me get it to work. The fridge ignitor doesn't seem to work maybe or the furnace itself just isn't working anymore, not sure. I don't run my fridge off propane ever so I've not tried that option to troubleshoot it.

What are some repair ideas or good replacement furnaces? Does the fridge/ignitor switch need to work / be replaced as well??

Thanks for your help

Susan I have a 1993 Lil" 13 foot Bigfoot, puts out excess heat. We set it in the 50's +-. The turn on for ours is on the bottom of thermostat. then one adjusts the temp up, when you hear it click, it will be the temp of inside. How the igniter switch is then coupled with the on off switch for the furnace doesn't seem realistic to me. The process. The heater will not come on unless it has adequate battery level. It has its own igniter. It will blow air but will not ignite. perhaps the previous owner hooked it up some way because he felt here was a problem with ignition doesn't seem releasable. why not just replace the automatic igniter on the heater first if that is felt to be a problem.

Perhaps I can discuss this better, I will think about it.

Later Kenny

I meant refrigerator rather than furnace above

That is actually really helpful, it could be that my battery is older and needs replacement and I will definitely try changing the ignitor switch first if that is not the case. Thanks!
