Kind of difficult to understand the issues without being able to see them....sort of like you couldn't tell from the description the seller gave you.
I would say it depends entirely upon the price and your level of expertise and willingness to learn it if needed.
It seems you are eager to tackle some things that others here would never think of regarding skills you already have so maybe this is just another chance to customize?
My first Egg had a giant automotive sunroof over the bed area and it was nice for
light and air but also let in a lot of heat.
The bigger thing I can not understand for the life of me is how people can describe the condition of these either bald-faced lying or so out of touch with reality it is scary!?!?!?
I once drove 17 hours one way (so don't feel too bad) to buy a
Casita that was described and PICTURED as being in decent condition.
It was so bad upon my seeing it that I was astounded. I even had pictures sent to me of certain possible problem areas before going that somehow did not reveal the true condition of the areas photographed?
I have a hard time accepting that anyone could really be dense enough to not see damage like this and I have to believe they were attempting to deceive and scam me.
Later I saw the same rig
for sale again but refurbished,I could still recognize it through certain features as the same unit.
I contacted the seller and he told me the story of buying it right after I drove away and it not making it 10 miles away before the frame broke.
What is wrong with people?
So take it how you feel it but I would try to find one to start off with that is in better fundamental condition than that one and chalk up the drive to a learning experience.
There are other ones out there, one has your name on it.
