After PineKnot-III, I am thinking about making a leisurely trip to Savannah, Georgia. My plans are to go the Southern Route along the Gulf Coast, stopping a couple of nights along the way. I'd like to stay about two nights near Okefenoke Swamp before going to Savannah. I will probably come back through Northern Alabama and Mississippi.
Does anyone have any recommendations on interesting attractions along the way between East Texas and Georgia's coast? I like historical sites, museums, things such as old farms, botanical gardens, etc. Also, I need to know about some knock-your-socks-off seafood restaurants in Southern LA, MS, AL and GA, and Northern FL.
