Lynn...check out EggCamper. It's tall enough and wide enough inside to accommodate a person 6'5" tall. The dinette is on the side and the toilet/shower is in the front. It's a very open space inside. At least worth a look. FWIW the company owner and designer is probably 6'4" tall. We've been inside with him and have not felt claustrophobic. I am not but felt that way the first time I was inside a Casita which had been on our possibles list.

OK, I admit it, I am a FG bigot!
I live in the land of the monstrous fifth wheel. Occasionally towing yet another trailer. That, or a bus sized motor-home, that costs as much as I paid for my house, and only sleeps two. I drive by a storage lot for RV's. Row after row of huge houses on wheels. They have come to represent, to me, the boom / bust cycle that is the oil and gas industry. A bumper sticker, "Oh Lord, please let there be another oil boom. I promise, I won't urinate it all away this time!" I am not implying that the OP fits this description at all. This is just to explain my bias.
I guess it is just my contrary nature that I want something that I can drive through a parking lot. I kind of think of it as practical RVing. You know, the green choice.
But I have learned, different strokes for different folks. Where can I buy an RV with a swimming pool?

"Koala" sounds like a good name for a trailer. So when you go camping, you are spending Koala-ty time!

No one needs to avoid calling a non-molded TT a "stickie". I have one, and that's what I call it! Call a spade a spade, ya know?

A Koala is cute and cuddly and give you a warm feeling just to look at them and they are fun to watch. Going camping with my family and friends gives warm cuddly feelings, camp sights are pretty to look at and just fun to set and watch.

What more could you ask far.

I'd get the stick built in a heart beat as long as I didn't have to store it outside. I have had a stick built 5th wheel and never had an issue because it was "stick built". It also was stored indoors all of it's life and I'm sure that helped. I never off roaded the thing either. I now have a Casita only because I accidentally ran across a used one in great shape for a good price. Fiberglass is wonderful bit it is not "maintenance free" either (just spent several days polishing and waxing it).

Bang for the buck, I'd be looking at the all aluminum trailers really hard. I think they would last a long time (as long as I'll be out pulling a trailer) and have more space with the small slide. I like the idea of a queen bed I don't have to climb over someone to get out of and I love the space even a few ft of slide offers.

Right now the Casita is perfect for our weekend outings but when I retire in a few years and have more time to travel I will most likely be doing exactly what you are. Looking for more creature comforts and bang for the buck. I'll be pushing 60 by then so I won't be concerned about something that will last 40 years or have a lot of resale value. I'll want something that's easy to get around in and easy to tow. The resale value will be my heirs problem, not mine.

But, the cost associated with this is quite tall. Would be nice though, even for my 'glass trailer.

Being static has as much to do with stick-built longevity as does a roof over a roof. Park models don't usually go from wrack to ruin but roof membranes do take a beating.

I believe Steve actually indicated that he thinks the unit "with extras" overpriced (an assessment with which I agree).

I though it indelicate to to point this out when I simply said Steve "doesn't want an Escape"...but since you evidently think my original assertion in error I feel the need to clarify.

And on the subject of Good Manners (not to mention reality checks)

In my opinion, the notion that the only folks that don't have an Escape are those too poor/cheap to buy one really should be confined to the Boosters section of The Escape Owner's Forum !

A lot of buyers (including myself), after looking at all the other options out there would disagree. Nobody is forced too buy options, but it is sure nice too have some good ones if you do want them.

And just where does this notion come from? I have never heard it, and in fact would be very put off if I did. Most owners are proud of what they bought for the reasons they did, no matter what the cost was.
