golden age of campers

I don't know if this has been posted before but I thought it was interesting. These are kinda the ancestors of our campers. Golden Age of Campers - Photo Gallery - LIFE

That was fun! The little Westfalia was the cutest, I think!

Great pictures. Some of them remind my of the Popular Mechanics books that gave you instructions on how to build things along with plans and material lists.

Love the trailers and the cars! I learned to drive in a 1937 Chevrolet Sedan. Wish I had it now!

That was great....thanks for that little trip down memory lane...I'm actually old enough to remember a few of those.

Our little Viking Express tent camper looks like the 1956 "Room with a View".

(doesn't the guy inside look like Woodrow Wilson?)

Oh I say, this is a family forum - some of those gels have legs that go all the way up to their swimming costumes....

That was cool. I particularly like the one tittled "two wheels, two women..." the motorcycle appears to be a Brough Superior SS100 one of the first true 100mph bikes and also what Lawrence of Arabia ended on.
