First trip!

Just got back from a wonderful 3 day camping trip in the Snoozy. My Mom and I went to a KOA campground in Luray, VA which is about 80 miles from the house. The Country Waye campground was absolutely gorgeous. Mountain views and lots of greenery. The staff was also wonderful. Thanks to Dan for helping me back into my spot!! I'll definitely be heading back there soon.

The Snoozy performed beautifully. I actually averaged 15 mpg with my Ford P/U. The true challenge was "would the Snoozy hold all my Mom's stuff?" I'm happy to say the storage was excellent. I used most of the systems except the AC and I didn't put up the awnings - no need - the lot was shaded. The queen bed was very comfortable. The jack knife sofa is wonderful to sit on but less than perfect to sleep on. (Fortunately my Mom can sleep through and on anything).

The temps dropped to about 40 degrees the first night. I had purchased a Holmes space heater and we stayed warm and toasty.

Only one issue - I couldn't get the hot water heater to work. However, a phone call to Alan (Old Man Snoozy) soon had the heater up and running - I needed to turn on a switch at the power source near the heater.

(Thanks Alan for your prompt response! Talk about customer service ... Alan took the time to call me back, on a Saturday, in spite of the fact he's sick as a dog. Alan, get better soon!!)

Anyway, the first trip was definitely a huge success. Can't wait for the next one!

I've attached a link to some photos:

When we picked up our Lil Snoozy we camped approx. 5 miles from the plant for 4 nights. One evening Alan & Nickolas dropped by to see if every thing was OK. We asked how to work the hot water tank. Nickola's eyes lit up and he crawed into the storage area and said "I forgot to plug it in".

Very nice! How do the awnings attach? Do the velcro on those rails or Slide down over them. Since they are off, does that mean they they must be taken off and stored inside to drive down the road. Thanks.

The edge of each awning slides into the bar above the window (and also above the door). Then then poles are attached to the frame of the trailer. The poles are adjustable so you can make one side shorter, or longer, or lower the height of the awning.

Both awning are detachable and I'm storing them in the space under the queen bed.

LOL! In my case the heater was plugged in but an EFI switch on the receptacle needed to be switched on.

I assume you can't drive down the road with them stored on the outside. I have not seen them in person. In my moldy climate, that might make it tricky to store them soggy and wet after camping with rain.

That's correct. Soggy & wet is rather unappealing!

If that happens to me I'll probably just put them in the bed of my truck (until they dry out).

Some interior photos

I took out the standard bedspread and the curtains that divided the bed area from the living area and added my own. Still need to add valances to the remaining large windows.

Congrats

Amy and I lived in Colorado for 30 plus years...would love to take our Lil Boozy out there and show it off to our friends. I keep reading about a rally coming up for the Snoozy clan?? When and where?? We were at the last one in Cheeroke, NC last October with Alan and Nick and others. Let us know. In the meantime, Happy Trails!!
