I dearly wish sometimes that I had a 16'
scamp and could pull it with a mini van or something (scamp now has the head room I crave). I could have saved hundreds by now with a rig like that. But today I went up a 4x4 logging road today so.... nature is loud AND expensive.
back to MPG... it is really really hard to learn how to drive again. Acceleration from a stop to 40mph takes almost 60 seconds.... learning to pull up short hills real slow now. Keeping top speed at 50 or 55. It's not natural and it can be unsafe becasue you burden the other drivers and they wave middle digits at you when they pass. I try to speed up when they line up behind me but not past the point they can't pass me. I want them to pass me so I can slow down again. I just dont want to irritate them so much.
Its just way different today.

I agree, we need to slow down and make every effort to do just that. Not only to increase MPG, must to enjoy the scenery that's going by...
