Grey Water...

Group : We bought our new Trillium 1500 in Feb, & finally last week started mucking around with it's systems while it was still in the driveway.

When we ran water into the sink "surprize" we found that it had no grey-water storage tank...as the water just ran out the spout on the port side of the trailer !!

Anyway, this got me thinking about the possibilities...and if this is your situation as well...what sort of arrangements have you made so that your egg doesn't "pee in public" ??

I'm just curious.

I carry an old 5 gal water bottle that's been re-painted.

Hi: PaulOWindsor... I bought a cheap gas can...and did the same as Jim. Only trouble is it caused quite a stir at the dump stn. on the way out of camp.

What others have posted is the most common - but be aware that some campgrounds require what you use be completely sealed - so a bucket without a cover might not be enough. Have also stayed at a couple of places where they require everthing to be self contained (mostly at *really* expensive private campgrounds) so having a bucket or jug everyone can see outside may occasionally not cut it.

Another option is a 11 gal. tote that is designed to lay flat under the trailer that I use when camping without hook ups and my grey tank gets full. I can take it away to the nearest dumping spot without moving the trailer.

Some people have changed the drain setup so it doesn't go outside but rather to a container under the sink.

If I were in your situation that's what I do and if possible with one of those totes if it would fit.

You will need something that can funnel the liquid into the dump station. A simple bucket might be hard to pour from into a small hole.

Oh yes Joy! Cant think of anything worse than going to a dump station and seeing that someone missed the hole (even just the grey water which often has a lot of stuff in it) and not cleaned it up - yucks
