And please take a few minutes to sit down and actually read the Declaration of Independence - it's well worth a read every 4th, and to read aloud if you have children. Yes, you know all about the "all men are created equal" and "life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness" parts. But what follows is even more important:

"That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed, — That whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it..."

This is truly revolutionary stuff, folks! It took a lot of courage to sign this declaration, to which the Founders pledged their lives, their fortunes, and their sacred honor. Is there anyone among today's politicians who would do the same?

Happy 4th, It is 39 years today for Deb and I. The 4th was the only day I could get off Work! I was stationed in Augsburg Germany, and the court was open (not a holiday in Germany? LOL)

It is a good day!! 16 years ago today my niece was born----3 months premature weighing 1 pound 13 ounces!! Today she is Sweet 16, just fine, and driving her parents crazy like a good teen is apt to do!!!

Happy day after the 4th.....we went from moderate drought catagory to severe today. No firework displays in surrounding towns nor any fireworks being shot off within my hearing distance so no pasture or woodland fires. Hopefully, everyone is saving their fireworks for the first snow or ice storm this coming winter. First time in years not to go to a fireworks display. Hopefully, next year.
