Happy early birthday to me!
Earlier, I posted a link to the Uhaul store with its links to collectible items. I have purchased quite a bit of stuff from them (especially cups that end up broken in the camper. Don't worry, I have that issue covered thanks to an item that better remain unnamed.).
Hubby followed the link and bought the folding bike for me for my birthday (in April). He thought he was fooling me, but I knew what he got. Now I have to put it together. I will post a picture when it is together. It is black and orange with the Uhaul label on it.
Hubby got a bike for himself but it has to be sent back. The company, probably not Uhaul but likely the bike company, sent a normal, blue folding bike, so it goes back. It arrive today and will be sent back. Uhaul said they would send another one and a shipping label to return the wrong one.

Any screw ups that Uhaul has made with stuff I ordered they made good. Broken cup was one, sent only one light adapter when I ordered two was another. Called them and they took care of the problem with no hassle. I see a lot of campers with the folding bikes, but I like my old Ross 27" five speed. When we restored our vintage teardrop I collected a lot of vintage camping stuff to go with it and some vintage bikes. Have a pair of BSA's that usually go with it. Not planning on repeating that with the Uhaul, it's just a user.

Uhaul has done that for us too. I had a couple of boxes of broken cups that they replaced. We called them and they are sending another bike and the label to return the wrong one. I suspect it is a Citizen situation, that Uhaul was sent the wrong bike.

Actually, our camper is done up in orange and blue. No, we are not IL fans even though we live here. We just had blue camper things from our previous Burro that we did up in blue and white.
However, I am not painting any blue on the bike.

Oops. Uhaul wants proof. I had to take pix tonight of both bikes to prove to Uhaul that we did not get the right bike. I hope they believe it. Kevin is gone; I can't muscle it out of the box, since my elbow is still not happy. I am not sure my pix were the best. The Uhaul bike has a black handlebar, black brake wires, and black tires. The wrong one has a chrome handlebar, white brake wires, beige tires, and a metal frame for carrying things. I emailed them to Kevin who forwarded them to Uhaul with an explanation for each image. I guess it is just a bit different from simply replacing a box of broken cups.

Probably the difference is they will have to eat the return shipping and more shipping for the correct bike. I didn't know they sold bikes.

I think the bikes are fairly recent. I did not see the bikes when I was buying cups and hats a while back.
I feel badly for them. I think it was a Citizen Bike company mistake.
I just wish it had not snowed 6 inches last night. I want to try it out.

Here's a funny UHaul related buy - a manual to install those funky bumper hitches of yore. I was the guy on his back when I was 20 years old. That was enough to get my butt back to engineering school.

Tom
I don't bleed that orange to purchase something I would never use. Everything Uhaul I have purchased/received has some kind of use, although Kevin's Uhaul cuff links will need a new cuff link friendly shirt. I have even connected and used the Uhaul pull cart for pedal cars onto my scooter to carry things. And the state map puzzles can be used to map out the states we have traveled in.

Well Cindy, you are obviously just not using your imagination. The pages from this book would make a lovely decoupage, perhaps even greeting cards, if folded nicely. It might even look nice on coffee table just to add a sense of elegance and sophistication to your abode.

Well, there is no appeal for me to buy the notebook either. Not even eye candy in those notebook pix to look at.
