Trailer: 1979 Trillium 4500 (front dinette)

It's a jelly!

We are pleased to have pulled home our new-to-us 1979 Trillium 4500 with front dinette option. Our new egg is in original, but not pristine condition. In serious need of a polish and new cushions.

We loved the jelly-bean look of the bolers, but my hubby needed more room to stand and to roll around in bed.

Found the Trilly (not her name...it hasn't come to us yet) in Chatham, Ontario and pulled her through the border at the Ambassador Bridge in Detroit, where customs officials told us to just move it along...no customs paperwork or hassle of any kind.

I was a committed tent person, but Neil had a childhood of caravaning around Australia. I told him he'd never see me in a Winnebago...but then we camped next to an egg in New York. It was love at first sight. I was eggstatic...there was a trailer made for me! (albeit, a long time ago in a far away land).

Then I found the forum....thank you all very much for your contributions herein. Learned a lot. Traveled Ontario and we found what we wanted.

Now to scrub and de-bunk our egg (we don't want the bunk over the double bed option). The dog will have to sleep on the floor.

Little leak from the awning track. Neil is across the room searching the forum for technical and restoration information (there is such a wealth here). I picked out some retro fabric for new curtains and we're just going to learn from you all and slowly go about the job of refurbishing abd personalizing. And to get camping and boondocking.

Looking forward to future conversations and meet-ups.

Kathleen and Neil

I love it when a plan comes together and you feel in love with a molded lightweight fiberglass trailer at first sight

I'm with Gina... have any pics?

Congrats,

That bunk over the double bed is a very rare option - none of the 4500's attending Emily had this option - Please, don't throw it out. Take it out carefully and save all the "bits" for posterity (or the next owner, lol).
