Wow, I'm amazed this thread has not received more response. I thought the granny cutting the cord on the noisy generator was hilarious. Guess I'll chalk this one up to my dry sense of humor. Then again, did many of you just turn away because of the title thinking that it was porn?

I loved it Steve! I've watched it twice! That's how I wanna be when I grow up---wait---I think I'm there now! (Where's my wire cutters!!!)

Seriously---are these generators as quiet as they are advertised?

Most people seem to think so. I purchased one last year and immediately sold it because I thought it was too loud. I'm about to purchase another one after not being to find a better alternative, at least for me.

Quiet is subjective. I'd think hearing one in operation and under load would be prudent if you were concerned and considering purchasing one. And to me, that's ANY brand.

Very funny.
Years ago, when camping at Mosport Race Track east of Toronto a set of wire cutters were employed to silence a loud set of speakers at 3am. They were all passed out drunk.... never knew what happened
