Heading to Snoozy-ville

Well,
I guess dream time is about over..............
Wife is finally on board and anxious to get a new Lil Snoozy.
Our plans are to leave at 5a.m. in the morning. (2-16-2013).

If I calculated correctly it's a 15 hour drive. (990 miles).
Or, it may take me a few hours longer than that. So hoping
to be in the area by Sunday night. Hopefully, the factory isn't taking
President's Day off. The factories I worked in never did. But
who knows. And if they take the day off, I guess I can spend
two nights in the area. Looks like the day time temps are going
to be in the upper 50's so we shouldn't have too much trouble
weather-wise. We're hoping to be able to place an order so as
to get on the "waiting list."

I contacted Mr. Smoak and he told me the turn around is 4 to 6
weeks. And if I waited later in the year it could then be 4 months
or so. Well, when you start to get the bug, it causes one to just
itch and itch. lol. I'm hoping the motels we wind up using don't have
the [errr] bed bugs.......

I'm not very good with cameras, but I'm taking a CoolPix with us.
So, hopefully I'll get a chip full of pictures while we're there.

Looking forward to being in the crowd with bragging rights........lol.
We're going shopping in a 2012 Scion xB because it gets 32 mpg.
But our tow vehicle will be a 2010 Tacoma with tow package to start
out with. So, hopefully this summer we will buzzing around and waving
at all the eggs as we pass.

Well, better get cracking before I get all worked up. It would be a long
drive if I stay up all night.

I stopped in last Thursday to check out the Snoozy. I was impressed with the trailer but I will let Carl do the review since it's his thread. But I will say that after almost two weeks on the road that sofa felt really great.

I still haven't seen a Snoozy yet, although I did get to see a new Parkliner. Hoping to take the trip myself someday to check them out.

We're back!!!!
I wrote a lengthy post, but it seems it didn't take.
I'm exhausted now, lol, so I will try to re-post tomorrow?

I will tell you again however, our take delivery date is June first, but it will be ready by May first if we decide on a earlier date. This is our first travel trailer, so hopefully we will learn the ropes and meet some of you "out there". lol.

Okay, getting a little more rested up...........lol.

Feel free to jump in anytime Eddie. All thoughts and observations welcome.

Instead of the details of my trip that got lost I'll fill in the nitty-gritty of our purchase.
And instead of the usual pics, I took mainly the mechanics type pics. Like pictures of the water heater, battery, and charger under the bed area. The fresh water tank under the couch, and things like that. I'll try to post pics later when I can figure it out.

Okay, our version of the soon to be Lil Snoozy:

I have my order page here in front of me, so I'll just go down the list.
1.) Generator Bracket mounted with tie downs for customer supplied generator. $125.00
2.) Thetford C-200CS Cassette Toilet mounted wired and plumbed to water system. $499.00 (This was $599.00 on my list from the website)
3.) Microwave mounted and wired with separate breaker. $149.00
4.) Fantastic Fan 8000 12 volt system. $250.00
5.) Additional Picture escape window with blind. $399.00
6.) Additional Bedroom Window with blind. $169.00 (This was $159.00 from the website)
7.) Aluminum Mag Wheels. $195.00
8.) Rear Bumper (as seen on BAMA's Snoozy) $150.00
9.) And last, but not least, I asked about a outdoor shower fixture. They said they could do this for me but would have to give me a price later. TBD (to be determined).

Whether I use the shower fixture or not, I thought it would be good for resale, etc.
As I told Alan, you really don't plan on ever selling it, but you most likely will at some time or other. Whether to move to something else, or for health reasons. I will probably hand mine down to my son or one of my grandkids. Then again, I may get buried in it. It wouldn't be any more expensive than some caskets I've seen. eeek.

Our delivery date is set for the first of June, but Alan said they will have it the first of May. I made the comment I may be able to pick it up in May, but in June for sure. He would store it for free if I had to wait 'til June. But I think I will have to scratch the itch in May most likely.

I look forward to roll down the highways. This will be our first travel trailer.
Hopefully, the gas won't be too apprehensive by then. Not looking good right now. lol.
But, that would mean that much more planning and time spent actually "camping."
Here, I can begin camping at only ten miles from home. Then twenty miles; and then,
well, you get the picture. I may just travel the roads of the state I live in. I've always wanted to do that. But I hate the expense of motels and not knowing what shape the rooms would be in.

We logged 2,000 miles checking out the factory. 900+ one way and 1100 on the return. Our GPS wanted to see different scenery I guess. I had gone too far before I realized I was on a different path. Call it white line fever or just interstate in general.

One more note: As said before........Alan and Nicholas were just great guys.
And I saw the Pool Factory Alan used to have right next door. lol.

Hope to get the pics up for everyone.

Sounds like a comprehensive list. I like the outdoor shower fixture. Big plus when you don't want to wet everything inside.
One thing you may consider is asking Alan and Nicholas to install wide angle back-up lights. It is really difficult to back into a dark campsite or to back up any where at night when you can't see. I plan on having lights retro fitted on May 24th when I'm in Snoozyville. I'm not sure why, but it appears as though no travel trailer manufacturer of any brand applies back-up lights. I guess this is just one of life's mysteries remaining to be solved.

I had back up lights on my 22', never could see back there without a camera!!
I love cassette toilets, they work wonderfully in the winter when the trailer is winterized, you just fill the little tank with windshield washer antifreeze and not worry.
