Healthy S'mores

I know I risk the wrath of my moderator friends but it may save someone from 'deathly smores.

Is nothing sacred? Forest Service says drop chocolate, add fruit to your s'mores | Fox News

Funny rant. Fox news is always good for a laugh. Of course I had to read it, the oxymoron title made me do it!

Healthy S'mores indeed

Donna, I think it's funny as well, that a virtually broke government can spend money on studying s'mores.

Very true. They probably invested millions to figure out fruit was more healthy in S'mores than chocolate. Really OMG

Healthy S'mores

Better idea... Skip the marshmallow and the graham cracker. Just chocolate, preferably dark. Don 't need a stick, so don't have to worry about that either! Don't mind raspberries with my dark chocolate...

Jon,

We're big on dark chocolate, particularly when it covers raisins or contains hazlenuts.

Driving can be healthy, at least tasty.

We have a stock of tow vehicles snacks. We carry dark chocolate covered raisins, pralines (sugar coated pecans), walnuts, sunflower seeds and (the unhealthy one) red twizzlers. We also often split a banana, orange or apple.

As to chocolate coffee beans, I've never had one but it's now on the try list. Ginny is definitely addicted to coffee, maybe she'll go for the beans.

Plain old dark chocolate is healthiest but dark chocolate covered almonds - yum!!
Of course I am a confessed chocoholic. It's the only vice I have left!

Actually, in the blog, they recommend that you "Grill thin slices of pineapple and substitute chocolate for the sweet warm fruit." Government double-speak?
substitute chocolate for the sweet, warm fruit.

Leave out the chocolate and use caramel wraps. One is about all you can handle because it's so dang rich. Someone pass the milk!

"They" will not appreciate the addition of more sweets in the form of carmel or chocolate cookies....but I bet they'll taste good.

I would suggest that "healthy s'mores" would more appropriately be called s'lesses. Fruit instead of chocolate. Don't even want think about it.
