I think he meant new tires.
New tires already mounted on new rims.

(I was trying to leave her an opportunity to chime in.)

I think she is buried in the snow.

I didn't see fuses on your list. Might need them.
What cleaning supplies are you taking? Will you need to spruce it up for any inspections?

Oh, and TP is always welcome.

Take a copy of the Buyers Check List. If for no other reason, than it will remind you to have the seller show you were the VIN number is located! We seem to be having a rash of new owners struggling with this issue:

Cleaning supplies a good idea and I always carry TP!

I can't edit my first post anymore, I guess there is a 24 hr rule.

Hubby and I are going to talk this list over and I'll add another list, hopefully a moderator can edit the list.

Lizbeth,

Is this a Christmas present to each other?

Prayer first,
Your good sense of humor!,
A feeling of adventure which must last beyond the trip,
At least 2 rolls of paper towels,
Hand cleaner,
Bright lantern with extra batteries,
Jump-it w/ compressor (helps when checking out TT light system, etc.),
Tire chains for tug,
Snow shovels and 5 gallon pail of cinders (like Cal-trans spreads on the roads),
Heavy-duty large umbrella,
Patience (essential if tempers flair with each other) and endurance,
Phone numbers (and e-mail addresses) of friends who live along the way,
Lap-top computer, cell phone and chargers,

Remember---you are making memories (good, bad or just laughable!) &
you know how we all feel about pictures!!

And the good wishes from all of us!!!
Kurt & Ann K.

No not a present to each other...I wish it was. It's in really bad shape, a complete rebuild and the owner isn't into cutting a deal. There is always hope though!

Good list! Eric and I have been tossing things back and forth, some of them you just covered.

We want to add-

Tools-
Hammer
Pipe wrench
Vice grips
Chisels
Hack saw and extra blades

Towing-
Safety chains

Repair-
Cotter pins if doing bearing work
Scrap wood
Fuses
Misc Hardware- Screws, nuts and bolts
Metal plumbers tape- Eric love this stuff

Misc-
Credit cards
Auto Club/Hood Sam Memberships

Eric wanted me to add more money for food and snacks because having a full belly helps me with the patience thing!

I am dug out now, but my trailer isn't :-P

Yes, I bought new rims and tires and Kurt helped me get them on and away I went.

That didn't take long, but we wired the pigtail which was a lesson in "come in after someone with odd electrical skills".

It was 30 miles from home on ALL mountain roads.

I haven't seen anyone ask *Specifically*... WHY are you asking? What did you do?

Yep, I would wait a bit before going up there if it's a journey to the NW.

Oh, here is another thing for your list

Ah, I see. So the equivalent of about 496 miles of normal road -- not like right next door then.

I haven't done nothin' just yet.......but all those yeti are located in the PNW. I am yeti hunting.

Yeah I've been watching the weather, very interesting.

In the mean time we are truck shopping, Eric is a very happy man. He has always want that big dodge diesel, now he has an excuse to look for one. It would also be useful to pull the Kern trailer that is over in storage by the LB airport now.

I would dump the bottle jack and take a good, old, any position scissors jack. Scissors jacks collapse to a much smaller height and hydraulic jacks tend to be fussy about being used in any position except vertical.

I also would like to reiterate the bearing issue. I bought a panel truck from an auto dealer. Drove it around happily including the expressway. Then took it to my mechanic for oil change and inspections. He asked about the front wheel bearings. I agreed they should be looked at. THEY CAME OUT IN PIECES IN HIS HAND. My God if they would have seized on the Xway, I wouldn't be writing this post.

4. Racheting Tie-down Strap
(at least 2, possibly up to 6)
5. Magnetic Towing Light Kit

How did you get your Boler Home?
Nix on those Magnetic tow lights, unless you strap them down with cable ties...they vibrate off.
