What a nice trailer!! CONGRATS once again. BTW, your daughter looks like being only few years older than mine! My little one is almost 5. I bet your daughter is very excited about going camping with you and your toy house!

A comment to me from Joy about her new trailer and the fact that she and her daughter, despite the snow, they have gotten to play camp in their driveway. It got me to thinking, what do all of you use your trailers for when it's not camping with you? Does it double as a guest bedroom? An office? Hide-away?
I remember as a child I loved playing in our rv's. Some I couldn't cause they weren't as stable parked as others, but............................. I would sneak in anyway. Really loved the rv's as a teenager hide-away (won't go into details) LOL.
So I was wondering what you use yours for?

Kevin, the first Caista we bought (85, only had a few weeks) the seller and his wife were gonna miss that part of their trailer. I guess that they too would grab a bottle of wine and go out to the Casita and turn on the air conditioner (I guess they didn't have air conditioning in their home) and talk about their week. Never thought to use our's for cocktail hour.

I have gone out with Manhattan in hand and sat in it for a while listening to the radio or watching tv. Usually dreaming of the next trip or Mod to make.
But most of the time it sits and cries that I am not taking it somewhere.
Yes I KNOW it sounds crazy but I swear it's crying.

Our goal is to have ours equipped as an earthquake shelter. I'm trying to get it all stocked and am buying things as I remember "I need this too."
We also use it as guest quarters, my folks have driveway camped in several of our trailers when they come visit. We have had friends stay out there as well.
We also have gone out there to have dinner, the neighbors must think us crazy.
When the weather turns to spring we will be spending lots of time out there redoing the roof and other mods.

Hmmm... ours sits in the back yard waiting. Waiting for the weather to warm up and me to have some free time to put it all back together. I've spent too long tracing mysterious leaks. I do believe (once again) I've finally found them all. I have to reinstall the upper f/g shelves, reconnect all the wires I cut to enable me to remove the shelves, paste back the ensolite I peeled back during the leak-quest, and generally neaten things up.
THIS YEAR we WILL actually move it from the back yard and put it to the use we acquired it for. (We actually bought it for the time my wife retires and we move out of the city to the Island (that's Vancouver Island) and can just get up and go away when we feel like it. (13.5 months and counting...))
It also keeps my new utility trailer company too.

Joy,
The camper looks great. Your daughter looks so excited about your new toy. Seeing yours is getting me anxious to get ours redone. Hope to see you at some nearby state park campgrounds soon.

Strange...seems two topics got merged together. Joy's Casita picture and the thread on "what else do you do with your trailer".
Nice trailer and greeter Joy!
