Hi!! I just wanted to introduce myself. I've been reading here a few days now, and you all seem like a very nice group. I'm looking to buy my first tt and I really like Scamps. I'm a long time tent camper. I have experience pulling horse and utility trailers but know virtually nothing about tts as far as their systems go. I'm particularly interested in buying a 5er egg shell and modding it along with camping in the winter. I'll be posting a 'few' questions, hope y'all don't mind. Cheers!

Welcome Cheryl, You have come to the right place. I am pretty new to the forum here as well. Not to camping, but to bumper pull eggs. I found this forum when searching for a small fiberglass trailer info. It helped so much that I have bought "2" of them in the last few weeks....... LOL. Last purchase, today a 2007 Casita. But what I wanted to tell you, I am sure Scamps are not much different than Casita's and honestly the first purchase was a dream to pull. Won't know about the second Casita till Saturday . But if you have experiance with other trailers you will find that a Scamp (if it's like pulling the Casita) a delight. No problem! I don't know what you plan to pull it with, but with my truck, I almost forgot that I was pulling something! Best of Luck with your search! Robin

Hi Cheryl, and welcome to FGRV. I and a few other people here have Scamp 5ers, and many of us have made made modifications or restored older 5ers, refreshing their interiors while keeping them much as Scamp made them. Their original configurations are very family-friendly, and modders (like me) often convert the front loft and gaucho-sofa into a bed that runs front-to-back (instead of side-to-side) with storage below that make them very comfortable couple-friendly trailers.

Feel free to ask all the questions you like!

Welcome to the world of FG
You've already done it all. Instead of loading horses and tack it's people and gear. The rest comes naturally.

Welcome Cheryl.

Have you considered coming up to the Bolerama meet on your July long Weekend? I'm pretty sure that they'll welcome tent trailers especially if you are looking at FG. You are about 3.5 hours away from touring over a hundred trailers of all makes and sizes. You'd get a good idea of all the various mods first hand.
