Salut Quebecois, or anyone else who can help.
We'll be in or around Quebec city in mid-to late September and are seeking recommendations for a campground in the area. We saw the website for a gem on ile d'Orleans, but we're on a tighter budget than that.
thanks for any help, merci
cheers

Hi,
In '08 we stayed near the Trans-Canada Highway, on the Levis (south) side of the St. Lawrence at quite adequate "Camping Transit". One can ferry to the centre of the city, with or without a vehicle. We opted to back-haul a bit and cross via the bridge for an interesting full day in historic Quebec City.
Bon voyage,
Des & Diane

Ian and Vicki, I cannot suggest many places near Quebec city myself (we camp in NB when headed in that direction) but if you are near northern montreal by chance we could look into a mini Boler weekend..Raymond? Anyone else up for this? Hope the long trip goes smoothly for you.

Hi.
If you're in the area at this time, you could joins us at the Québec Bolerama:
http://boleramaquebec2010.blogspot.com/
It is about an hour and a half from "the bridges", not for a visit of québec city but just before or after !!!!
For Quebec city, this one is so much "in town" that it is the back yard of a motel and residences, it is in my neighborhood and I have never took the entrance sign as a serious thing..... I did the search for you this morning !!!!

Zoom at max and use the satellite view, you will see the RV'S parked (north side of Boul. Hamel), you will have more info there:
http://www.bonjourquebec.com/qc-fr/reperto...n_12601458.html
There is many campround in less than an hour drive from downtown. I have never camped so close to home tough.... and there is the Jacques Cartier National park that is 50 km from downtown (half hors drive) if you want to be in the woods: http://www.sepaq.com/pq/jac/
Have a good trip anywaw you do it.

We can recommend Camping Des Aulnaies as a nice clean camping resort with very well maintained facilities. It's on the south shore perhaps an hour or less from Quebec City.

Hi Tina
Sorry for late answer, I just see your message.
It would have been a pleasure to meet you : in September I will be in Europe.
Otherwise, I would attend Quebec Bolerama in St-Roch-des-Aulnes.
