Good stuff!

Good stuff guys! I enjoying reading about how and why we love our fiberglass trailers.

Come on! We need everyone to post a few "love" notes. Fiberglassrv.com has almost 400 registered users. If everyone would just post 3 or 4 "love" comments, we'd have a 1,000 reasons why we love our fiberglass wonders.

So why or how to do you love yours?

93. Morgan loves his trailer because if the water rises faster then he gets out of bed, the trailer will float.

Love Our Little Trailer

94. We love our little egg because of the closeness we feel to each other when traveling.

95. We love it because we know that at all Rallys, we meet new friends.

96. We love it because we also get to keep and enjoy the friends we have made previously.

97. We love it because it takes us away from all the telemarketing calls we get at home.

98. We love it because it is an easy way to travel and still be our own personal space.

OK, not owning one or ever having stepped inside one, could you describe the smell for me? Poetically or not.

It'll be at least a couple of years before we own one; our pickup shell is fiberglass, at least! We like camping in that. We slept in the back at Pedernales Falls S.P. last weekend. Much more comfortable than a tent.

91. I'm with Pam, I love that I never have to use a public restroom again when traveling.

Alane and I are looking forward most of all to this aspect.

Smell

Hi Kays! You asked about the smell. Please understand, it's nothing objectionable ... it's like a new car smell, only better.

108. Our rig contains the smell of adventure!

109. Our rig smells like us ...

110. Of our stuff stored inside...

111. Of stuff we've cooked and spilled...

112. Of our pets and of the places we've been.

113. Just like your house smells when you come home after a long time on the road. The house ... and our trailer ... smell like home.

114. The odor of places, things and people we love.

115. In a pine forest, our rig smells mountain fresh.

116. At the beach, it smells salty.

117. Immediately upon entering the trailer, the smell causes my blood pressure to drop ... and my pulse quicken.

118. It just smells good ... there's no other way to describe it!

More

119. I love the sound of the wind blowing in our open trailer windows at night.

120. I love the way the drone of the rig's air conditioner drowns out the sounds of a noisy campground or neighbor.

121. I enjoy closing the blinds, turning on a radio, and being alone ... totally alone with my wife.

We love it for the memories it stirs,

We love it for being His and Hers.

We love it for its' versatility,

We love it for its' utility.

But most of all, in spite of our antics,

if (for nothing else) its' truly romantic.

147. We love how she looks in our yard wrapped up in her cover.

148. We love to hear everyone talk Casitas and other Fiberglass trailers.

149. We love to make camping plans just to be with her.

150. We love to bring her home dirty and wash her to see her shine.

151. We love to show her photo to friends and listen to their comments.

152. We love to keep her company and sit inside her and hate it when she's alone.

153. We love to get referrals to show our love for her.

154. We love to know we have a comfortable king bed and not have to reply on a hotel for a good nights rest.

155. We love her air conditioner on a hot summer day or night.

156. We love to watch TV in our warm bed on a cold winters night.

157. We love the refrigerator that holds our delights close at hand.

158. We love the private bathroom during the dark nights.

159. We love that our feet touch her warm carpeted floor.

160. We love the many lights that light up our cozy Casita.

Kind of like sand...

Kind of like the sand from Matagorda Island that I continue to distribute over every campground in Texas, every time I set up my tent, right? Despite my best efforts to sweep it out (vacuum cleaners and tents don't get along too well), we continue to carry tiny granular reminders of a trip I took before Alane and I even met.

Only the Matagorda sand has no smell. If tents smell at all, they smell of waterproofing compound (new ones), or musty storage odors (if they have done time in the garage).

I much prefer the odor of my flannel shirt when I take it out of the back of the truck after a night by the campfire (that is, assuming it has only been an overnight trip. Other, less welcome smells might otherwise intrude). :xx

Some of my best memories of camping are the smells, but I usually don't get to keep the smells. This may be an advantage to fiberglass trailers that I hadn't thought of. (And here I was trying to imagine the smell of fiberglass!)

162. I love the way we can be so far away from home yet seem like we're home in our little fiberglass house.

163. I love the fact our fiberglass wonder is so simple, yet deluxe.

164. I love the fact there is little maintainance for the roof .

165. I love knowing there's not much that can break.

166. And what can go wrong is usually easy to fix.

167. Even if everything breaks, I love that we're still sleeping off the hard cold ground.

168. I love our rig's mini-blinds ... much nicer than curtains.

169. I love the fact so many others love their little rigs too!

Come on!

Come on!

Everyone! Post a few love notes to your fiberglass wonders! Please encourage others you happen to meet on the road ... and on the internet ... to visit here and post.

I'd really like to get 1,000 reasons why we all love our little fiberglass wonders.

Perhaps then, folks will understand our mania.

On second thought ....

It's a fiberglass thing ... they wouldn't understand!

Thank God we do!
