How do I love thee?

This topic was posted by Charles Watts.

Ok, I admit it. I'm addicted.

Since I recently crossed the 1,000 post mark (good grief!) ... I thought it would be fun for ALL of us (lurkers, owners, wannabe's, dreamers, whomever) to try to come up with 1,000 reasons why we all love our little fiberglass rigs.

While I could probably come up with 1,000 reasons myself ... even I would get tired of reading what I write ... so I really need your help.

Ok ... with apologies to Elizabeth Barrett Browning, here goes:

To our tiny fiberglass trailers:

How do I love thee? Let me count the ways.

1. I love thee to the depth and breadth and height
My soul can reach, when feeling out of sight

2. For the ends of being and ideal grace.
I love thee to the level of every day's most quiet need.

3. By sun and candle-light.
I love thee freely, as men strive for right.

4. I love thee purely, as they turn from praise.

5. I love thee with the passion put to use
In my old griefs, and with my childhood's faith.

6 I love thee with a love I seemed to lose
With my lost saints.

7. I love with the breath, smiles, tears, of all my life.

8. And, if God choose, I shall but love thee better after death

Ok, ok, so the first 8 ways or reasons are really ones written by EBB ... so I cheated! But hey, we're

talking about coming up with a 1,000 reasons here.

Alright ... some of my own personal reasons for loving my trailer:

9. I love the lifestyle our rig has given Pam and I.

10. I love the sense of adventure our trailer represents.

11. I love its light weight and ease for towing.

12. Its close quarters where Pam is never more than an arm's length away.

13. I love the fiberglass rig's soft rounded corners.

14. Its gleaming smooth white exterior. So fine, so fine!

15. I love the way it smells inside .. it reminds me of past trips.

16. The smell also causes me to dream of future trips.

17. I love packing our gear and rations onboard.

18. Washing it is a real thrill.

19. As is waxing its fiberglass surface to a shine! .

20. I love the sight of the tiny trailer hooked to my tow vehicle.

21. Pulling out of our driveway is always a thrill.

22. I love seeing the rig in my rear view mirror as I drive.

23. And hardly noticing the fact that I'm towing it.

24. I love it because gasoline is expensive (eh?)

25. I love the way the trailer tracks behind us.

26. Even in the whoosh of a passing tractor trailer rig.

27. It's fun to pull it fast ... or pull it slow.

28. I love the fact it's self-contained ... and so are we.

29. I love the fact Pam hasn't used a public restroom in years.

30. Stopping at a Flying J is fun, because we can pull up to any pump.

31. I love quick overnights in a Flying J or a Walmart.

32. I love the fact it doesn't really matter where we're going, as long as we going!

33. At the beach, it's a blast.

34. In the mountains, the trailer is magnificent.

35. On the plains, well, I love it because it's just plain fun!

35. I love backing up my trailer into a campsite.

37. Even when I back into a tree.

38. I also love asking for a big pull-through, parking next to big rigs.

39. Commerical campgrounds almost always have room for my tiny trailer.

40. But I really love being in state (provincial) parks, national forests and parks.

41. I love tucking it into a mountaintop campsite.

42. Particularly in remote campsite, only big enough for us.

43. I love setting up camp.

44. But breaking camp is fun too.

45. I love the reflection of the sun off the shiny trailer.

46. The way it just seems to glisten and shimmer.

47. But I also love a rainy day.

48. The sound of rain drops on my fiberglass roof.

49. I love sitting outside the rig by a campfire with Pam and the dog.

50. But being inside with them is great fun too!

Ok, the numbering might get off and some of us may say close to the same thing but who cares!

We need to come up with 1,000 reasons why we love our little rigs.

And you guys gotta help me! Start posting!

Everyone!

Right now!

I'll add more later!

Reasons

51. I love it that it is small enough just hook it up and drive it around town when I get the urge but don't have the time to camp.

52. I love the fact that it makes other people point and smile as I drive down the highway.

Love, love, love it

57. I love the fact that it is never changing; it was an egg in the beginning and will always be an egg.

58. I love the fact that it is ever changing; as when any little modification or decoration makes it seem brand new to me.

59. I love that I can look out my kitchen window and see my Scamp, like a loyal puppy, waiting for me to take it for a ride.

How do I love it!

#82 - I love the way Murphy (me dawg) take to it, hopping into it with pleasure, jumping up on the bed, taking over!

#83- I love that feeling: headfing out, no schedule, all possibles aboard, the sun leading the way.

84 - I love that the body will never rust

85 - I love that it fits sideways in our driveway

86 - I love that it's light enough for Greg to move it by hand, all by himself so that it's sideways in our driveway

87 - I love that the trailer is only two years younger than me and looks great! (I'm only 30)

88 - I love that it's still wide enough inside to fit my 6'2" husband in the bed!
