Let's revive our poll of which brand of molded fiberglass travel trailers we own. If your brand isn't listed, please answer "other" and add a comment to specify which one is yours. Thanks for participating!

Gotcha!

Good poll.

My previous trailers were mini pop ups. I sometimes miss the charm.. or... NOT.

I got the Burro, not by specific preference, but because when you go for old and used, you take whats available at the time. I probably would have been just as happy with any of them, sans.. a T@B.

We need to add one more category. What would you get NEXT time if money and circumstance were no object?

My answer.. 17 foot Bigfoot.

I chose "other" as my previous trailer, and that's not really the whole story.

Our Scamp is the first trailer my wife and I have owned. We rented a small Play-Mor stick built trailer for a week the year before we bought our Scamp. Also, I grew up camping as a kid. We started out in a Gottschalk (sp?) tent, moved up to a Bethany tent trailer (it was pink with a one-piece fiberglass roof!), and then to a 25 foot Executive (brand) motorhome (stick built with fiberglass end caps and roof) which Dad traded in for a 26 foot GMC motorhome (fiberglass and aluminium).

Next time? A Scamp 5er.

Mary,

Is there some way to be able to "vote" for two trailers in the same poll? I'd hate to have to choose between voting for our Casita or U-Haul...

I gennerally like my eggs poached and sitting on a slice of ham with both sitting on an english muffin.

Now for trailers and explaining my previous, which I still have and intend to use, is a tinny barely room for two people backpacking tent.

I tried to choose "other" for my previous trailer (got error messges until I marked something in that choice)

But suggest that someone add none as a choice since my Boler is my first trailer.

But what the heck - it's all in fun.

Like Roy, the Boler is our first travel trailer. It is our first RV trailer (I have a small utility trailer), and our only previous RV experience is a week in a rental tent trailer - which led to the decision to get something with hard walls.

Information is good. Lack of information is not so good, but misinformation is much worse. Check facts, and apply common sense liberally.

Thanks, Roy. I added a more appropriate choice for others like you. Appreciate the suggestion.

Our Casita is the first trailer we've owned. When I was a kid, my dad had two slide-in campers for his half-ton Chevy pickup truck. The first one he built himself in 1962. The second one he traded for some Civil War books. I forget what brand it was, but it was a decent slide-in--stove, sink, water tank, overcab bed, table/bed, the usual. We had a lot of great trips in it, but I didn't want that type of rv. Once my wife and I saw a fiberglass rv, we got tunnelvision. It had to be fiberglass or we were just going to stick with our tent camping ways.

Of course when the bear raided our campsite at Standing Indian Campground, we knew we had to have a fiberglass trailer--AND FAST!

First trailer was 13 ft. stick built that slept 4. Pulled it with 1966 Corvair Coupe. It had a gas/110 Vac refer, 2-burner gas cook top with oven, sink with potable water tank), clothes closet, toilet with holding tank, but no airconditioner.

Latter we had a 1976 Chevrolet Camper Van . About the same size in side as the Casita, but slept 5 (made a custom bed for youngest in the cab). It had a gas/110 Vac refer, 2-burner gas cook top with oven, sink (no potable water tank), clothes closet with porta-pottie, and room airconditioner install in rear above door window.

Then came "The Egg".

Ellen, I didn't forget the Amerigo. The poll doesn't have room for all of the brands. Those not listed should vote "other" and post a comment.

Roger was listing his own personal set of choices... He's owned 'em all! (Except for Amerigo and a whole bunch of others.)

My camping rig prior to the pop-top Compact II was also a molded fiberglass pop-top, a 1978 Toyota Chinook micro mini motorhome. The advantage of the trailer is I can set up camp and use the tow vehicle to do my running around.

I don't have an egg - yet. The stick-built Scotty I have now is my first camper. I was looking for a molded fiberglass trailer for some time, but they are not very plentiful in this area as they seem to be out West. I figured it would be better to get what was available now, and keep my eyes open for an egg when the right one comes around. My Scotty is only 12-1/2' long, so when I step up to a 13 footer it will seem big.
I do a lot of lurking and learning - thanks for letting me hang around!

I didn't have a TT before the Casita but grew up making trips and spending summers in the folks' Airstream 31's (they had four between '67 & '85).
Those rigs were great for us kids but for my parents they were a HASSLE (especially through the two gas crunches).
When I vacated my house and prepared to move aboard (got rid of stuff), I came across countless sketches I made as a teenager of minimal living units. Basically the layout of the trailer I have now, imagined as a boat, a motorhome, a treehouse, even a cable car!
I've been aboard the Casita for a year and a half now and have too much fun and admire the thing every day.
After 20 years of not having an RV, my Dad (now 79) wants to order another Casita, after seeing how easy it works for me.
Simplicity RULES!
