This was not unexpected.

I had planned to tug my trailer outta here Tuesday or Weds so it would be out of the line of fire for my departure today.

Unfortunately, duty called and I had to travel for work on an instants notice this week.. no time to pull the beast out.

Oh well, I have a "Guy" with a big truck and a blade.

He still hasn't shown up. It's been two days.

The COUNTY plow showed up. Thanks Bud...

So, I will spend the first few days (And hopefully thats all) at my own house, trying to dig a path for the two fighting raccoons that got stuck under my house overnite.. they must have gotten in before the hard freeze, now they are stuck under there...

Anyone got some kevlar I can borrow?

Oh geesh! That's quite a snow hill you have going there. So far no more rain here today, I guess the storm slowed down.

Be careful with those coons!

they will do what they want. I had a peek, it's two adults.. and they are hopping mad! I am not sure why.. I dumped a bunch of hot water out the window to melt a path for them, they still won't use it!

I sprayed air freshener under there.. that only made them madder.

I ain't going anywhere near them. The cat is POed because I blocked off the doggie door and he can't go outside. They would tear him to shreds, no doubt.

Gina,

Look at the bright side. They're raccoons, not skunks.

I'm down in the OC flatlands, waiting for rain. Your mountains sure look pretty from down here. I don't ever think I've seen that much snow on them.

Hope you get out before this next one hits.

thats what I am trying to do. My usual plow boy broke his blade, and all the other private contractors up here either have blade issues (This is ICE, not snow, and it's hard on the equipment) or don't answer their phones.

They are busier than a one legged man in a tandem sack race...

Right now, I am just trying to salvage the quartzsite trip. I am thinking I have no hope of an earlier adventure.

Bummer. Is it too icy to handle with a shovel? How about finding some strong boys with shovels? Around here, there's a crew that make some cash every time there's a big snow, shovelling roofs and sidewalks.

actually, yes, someone in my neghborhood found a couple willing guys.

So, they came up in the dark and had it done 1 1/2 hours and 100 bones later.

I have a short window to get out of here. The temp rose to the 40s and we have had a couple inches rain already, turning to snow again later today.

I am having my coffee, then will go out and have the fun job of hitching in the rain, loading and getting out.

oh, and the raccoons can have the place to themselves. I was awakened several times last nite from the "Fighting" (I suspect they may be having a romantic interlude, actually, at my expense) and I could hear the little darlings ripping the insulation from my floor.

I have to call exterminator guy Monday. I would rather run rapids on a log with no paddle than mess with raccoons.

Yep, Gina, your side of the mountain looks like mine! I finally got my 4WD Jeep out today for the first time, all I did was dig yesterday. The main roads are all OK, so once you get there you will be fine. Don't let those racoons play my guitar while your gone
Bob
BTW the storm is moving east and passing our part of the mountains, it's all in the desert now

I always get angry when the village comes by and buries my driveway after I clean it off with about six inches to a foot of snow.

After seeing your county guys work Gina, I guess I will have to tone it down some.

Wow, that's some plow in job.

(Yes, really)
Yeah, I know. I just drove thru it

8 hours to Phoenix! Had to take it slow and steady.. I-10 is hydroplane central when this happens.

Paul, that berm is the result of almost 48 hours of steady snow and no plow. They can only cut one lane when they take so long to get to you. There is nowhere to pile the snow on these mountain roads.. but "up".

AZ doesn't change their time Everyone else is asleep and I am wide awake...
