23 days with our teardrop, and 5 with the uhaul. We've only owned the uhaul for about 6 weeks. Taking it out for a few days a couple weeks from now. The teardrop's going to a car show overnight this weekend. Since we both are now retired except for some part time work we are considering a trip south this winter for a few weeks. That's the main reason that we bought the uhaul.

Enquireing West Coast Canadian Rodder Mind asks "Which weekend event are you attending this weekend and WHAT are you taking to the show??"

Doug; We're going to a car show in Bennington Vermont. Taking our '76 Ford F150 4 wheel drive pickup to pull our 1946 Modernistic teardrop camper. I'll throw in some vintage camping equipment and two old BSA bicycles and we'll be talking to spectators nonstop all weekend. The teardrop is the big attraction, pickup so-so, although it is a rustfree one from Arizona, which is a big deal in this part of the country. The teardrop gets used regularly for camping, can be pulled with anything as it's only 650 lb., the truck gets very little use. Bob

1 Trip ... to Alaska.
Left home in NY on June 19, returned home September 11.
First stop Colorado to visit family and friends ... straight north to Canadian Rockies for some hiking ... picked up Alcan Hwy in Dawson Creek ... first stop in Alaska was Haines ... went as far north as mile 260 on Dalton Hwy ... visited 6 National Parks ... exited Alaska via Top of World Hwy to Dawson City ... south on Cassiar Hwy with stops in Atlin and Stewart/Hyder ... detour to Couer l'Alene, Idaho (very nice, will revisit) ... back thru Colorado for another family stop .... then Home! .... 13,800 miles ... no major problems (small leaks due to loose rivets from bumpy roads) ... lots of gorgeous scenery and wildlife sightings ... some very nice campsites ... 0 WalMart nights... we call it our North American Economic Stimulus Spending RoadTrip (it was worth it :-) ... trip of a lifetime ... now Casita gets put away for winter.

A two week trip through the southwest to Mesa Verde, 3500 miles ,seven states and seven nat'l parks or monuments. Four extended weekends and at least one more in October. Add a week camping on the Harley and a 4 day canoe in camptrip I'd say we did good for folks who still have to work for a living. As many others have said-can't wait till every day is like saturday.

About 11 weeks so far. Another week in October for the Lake Casitas gathering. I highly recommend retirement. [emoji6][emoji106]

USE?

Picked up our casita Independence Dlx April 2018..used it 55 nights in 2018, incl 2 trips to FL and a 3 week boondock i northern VT. This season we used it about 25 nights b4 cancelling out planned trip "out west" and finally deciding we needed more space for all the new grandkids coming along. WE sold it at end of July, and ordered an Escape 21, which we will pick up in April 2020..can't wait to get back 'on the road' ;-) The trip to BC and back to pick up the E21 is planned to be at least a month, we hope.

100 nights so far this year, still more camping to come. Two month long trips to spots on the west coast, then a lot of shorter trips either local or in the SE USA. Mileage around 15,000 miles.

More nights and miles in 2018, as we traveled to AK that year.

Retired, otherwise, it would be more like 20 days total.

I purchased an Escape 17B in April, 2011 and slept in it 1090 nights up until June 2017 when I sold it. Towed it 86,726.2 miles, most with a RAV4, and the last trip with a Tacoma.

I purchased a 2017 Escape 21 in August, 2017, spent 543 nights in the trailer and towed it 20,531.7 miles, the first 8000 with the Tacoma, and the rest with a F 150 3.5 EcoBoost.

I'll be leaving upstate NY for Quartzsite, AZ in October, planning to spend another winter without snow!

Howdy All,

We are finishing up our 4th season of camping with our ‘05 Casita 17’ FD. We camp about 40 to 60 nights per year. Closer to 60 the last couple of years.

3 years, 3 months, and 22 days til retirement! LOL, I actually like my job, but I am a numbers guy.

Goal in life — to live in an egg camper down by the river!

Happy Camping,

Dean

This year will be a short one, about 130 days. I'm out 4 to 7 months every year, avoiding the Texas summer heat. Bosker, my traveling pup, and I have enjoyed Newfoundland, and Alaska the last two years. This year, it was fishing in Quebec.
