OK, my brain is full already with all these good suggestions. Hope I can remember them the next time I use the camera, which incidently is a Canon SD1000 Powershot. I also have a Nikon Coolpix 4500 but it hardly gets used anymore. I like the Canon better because of the small size.

I don't know if this is what everybody is talking about but it's one of my favorite collection of pics. Well done IMHO.
I like that one also Steve, me and Brian are in a few of those photos

A virtually impossible question to answer with any degree of authority

See it
Shoot it

that's about it.
Here here! You either got it or you ain't got it. I was a professional photojournalist for 35 years in the Pacific Northwest, retired two years ago and now photograph birds professionally. How? Who knows? Like you said, "see it, shoot it." As a former sports photographer, my axiom was "if it moves, shoot it."

Steve,

Check out this site: alexanderlowry.com Al is a professional photographer with write ups in National pubs and shows all over. He has taught for the University of California. He is currently using a small Canon 5 mega pixel point-n-shoot.

His mantra is that it is not the equipment, it is the eye and heart of the artist.

Keep shooting, make it like you like it on screen. Print it until you like it. If it talks to you, others will hear.

Good advice. I may have to modify my mantra, which is taken from Bill Clinton: "It's the Camera, stupid!" Could he be wrong about that?
