Thumbs up

Well.. I have been lurking here for awhile, but you all seem like a nice enough bunch of folks so I thought I'd like to join your group.
Let me introduce myself, I'm Bill, my wife Barb and I live in northern Michigan and presently own a pop-up and a class A motorhome. I'm getting rid of them and trying to purchase a 13' U-Haul egg. The fella that has it is not in a big hurry to sell.
I have found another small fiberglass trailer. It's about the same size 13', but not egg shaped and it has a dutch door for an entrance door. The little trailer has no manufacturers markings so I don't even know the maker... But if we can agree on price it will be here next week.
If the deal works out I will post some pictures for a possible ID of the little guy.
Does anyone know of any trailers that were made with 2 the piece doors? The top opens independently from the bottom..
thanks
Bill

Welcome, Bill.

Sorry, I can't think of the dutch-door trailer, but if you haven't already you should have a look through the FiberglassRV Albums (link at the top of this page).

Hi, Bill! Welcome!

I have no idea what that might be, but we'd sure be interested in seeing photos!

Does it look like this? This is a 1985 Knaus. it is constructed of f glass panels not moulded. It has been at the Emily gathering for several years.

Hello and thanks for the replies!
The trailer does look a lot like the Knaus in the picture james..... Thanks. I did a search for Knaus and came up with very little information about the trailer, but it appears that the company is still in business.
I'm going to try to go over and take a few pictures later (If we don't get the snow that's predicted). I would still like the U-Haul egg..... but this one is much less money!

Dutch doors were very popular on European caravans (trailers) for several decades - for example, two of the current Knaus models still have them. Any chance it's a European model you're looking at?

Here's a link to a recent Knaus product, the C Liner small motorhome.
It's on the Renault Master chassis, not dissimilar from the Mercedes (Dodge) Sprinter.

Hello again and thanks for the additional replies.
Well.... it looks as though winter has returned here. We have had another 14" of snow with more to come. I will post some pictures as soon as the weather permits me to leave the house and get over to the trailer.
tryin' to stay warm

I found the main Knaus site:

http://www.knaus.de/

It's a little hard to spot, but click the white "E" box toward the lower right for English.
