Has anyone posted on the Chilliwack Humdinger RV Show this last weekend? Very well attended....lots-o-dough out there still to spend even in this *ahem" down turned economy.

It seems the popular configurations were the toy haulers.

Fiberglass rigs in attendance:

1. (1) 21 footer - Big Foot
2. Escape - all lengths
3. Edge (?) new out of the US. Not molded as far as I can tell, but 30,000.00+

I saw a couple of the Edge trailers today at an RV Show in San Diego. They looked nice enough but had some of the flimsiest components I've seen on an RV. The grab handle by the door wasn't much stronger than the plastic strap that comes with my automotive battery. And the counter top was made out of thinnest plastic material I've seen for this purpose. It's supposed to be a lightweight trailer but the manufacturer may have gone too far.

The pictures were frame grabs off a video and I'm surprised at how good they came out.

Steve: I was interested in the window mechanisms. They were pretty cool and a new concept to me. The windows popped out from the bottom on a top hinge leaving the window opening bare or you could pull a spring loaded screen up for bugs. The night shade pulled down in a similar spring loaded fashion, and the rep stated there was a foil surface on the outside (I didn't look) that would keep all light out. I didn't see that style of window in any other rv out there, but I suspect other countries have probably used this style for a while.

They had a European look to them.

The composite marble looking counter tops were very light and I thought durable from appearance, but the balance of the trailer was definitely a tip out sticky dressed up. I think 30,000.00 and change to start.

One option I wish was available for our molded fiberglass units is a factory automotive paint finish with a choice of colors. In my case that is very wishful thinking now....

oh, I just noticed LED lighting. Does any other mfg offer that now?

Mike, I've ammended your post for brevity in my response (sorry!!)
I know Reace at Escape has had at least ONE of his Eggs custom painted for a customer. Because of the 'quality' of the paint job the customer ordered, I'm affraid the overall quality of the splash job left lots (..at least in Reaces eyes) to be desired.
IMHO: I DO believe there is GOOD in dealing with a customer friendly company like Escape.

Just another couple of pictures from the Escape booth at Humdinger. My wife fell in love with the 17' (Plan A), so I have a feeling all my hard work restoring our little Trillium might not be enjoyed for as long as I had planned!

I wonder if every new 19'-er gets one of these swanky placemats?
