I never cook in the camper...but I know what you mean about the smells
.....I Love to just go set in mine,read relax and enjoy the Freash outside smells that it seems to hold. maybe it is just all in my head,but I just know I can still smell the water from the last kayak trip or the wild flowers
my grandson picked......of course it is warm enough here most of the time that I could take a nap
. Not that I would ever hid in the camper from DH and DD
