I sorta suspect that the lowest-price ones are most likely to be scams for a different reason! The folks who can LEAST afford to pay a high price are the ones who can least afford to hire lawyers etc, so they are regarded as "soft targets" by scammers!
Think like "the enemy"! If you were gonna be a scammer what/who would you try to scam?
A: People who want to buy (or sell something) immediately. People who can't afford to pay "full price" or who "must sell" due to some crisis or other.

Karalyn, I had given up on finding one within a reasonable amount of time and started looking at stickies. I had already decided I'd get a KZ Spree. Then my Casita popped up on Craigslist 25 miles from my home.
Wait till Casitas start popping up for sale in spring before giving up.

One will show up this spring, you may have to be ready to travel. We drove 8 hours for ours last weekend. Once we get everything the way we want it it will be so cute. Don't give up....

karen Craigslist has one in Rapid City SD 4000 for 1992. Needs some work, you might want to check it out. Looks nicely modified. I don't know how to post the link. Sorry.

Sounds like a good argument for a his and hers trailer.
My wife has not put her foot down on this one. I am heading to Sask.

Not a stupid good price, but a good price for a 4500.

When it's finished (if ever) to my satisfaction I'll probably have as much (more when counting my labor) in it as a comparable unit on the retail market but, it'll be mine & the way I want it to be . I've built & rebuilt a couple of 'stick built' cabover truck campers & a teardrop trailer from scratch. Enjoyed all that but am havin' just as much fun with the Scamp. Still scour CL in this & surrounding states for bargains in FGRVs but ain't seen any lately. They do come along if yer careful (& quick )

You have a Scamp, but you still watch CL for more eggs. No wonder FG resale values are so high! One is not enough!

You know I never even thought that having 2 Casitas might help attract a good "Her"?
So now what do I get?

Actually, my Grandaughter wants one but, you're right, if I found a bargain Scamp or Casita 16 I'd not hesitate to have another . There's a Trillium 4500 in a storage lot 'bout a mile down the road from me. Has Florida tag & door appears to be 'sprung', & it hasn't moved for at least a year. I left a note with the storage operator for the owner that I'd be interested in discussing price with him if he should decide to sell...

Actually, I have 5 kids. One is turning 18 in September. He has the typical, "I know it all" attitude. Failure to launch is not an option. I think of a second trailer as a launch pad for him. It's kinda cold in the winter, he better get a job by the time the snow starts to fly.

I got a pretty nice Casita at a military base sale this winter. Most bases have a recreation "agency" if you will, that rents items for personnel to use. That includes campers. Casita campers are a popular camper that was purchased in the past. As they age they sell them and get new ones. If you can get a hold of those people you can ask if they are going to sell any excess equipment, like campers.

I'm retired Air Force & we go to the local AFB once a month or so (wuz up there today for medicine). I check with the MWR center every so often but they ain't had nuthin' for sale in a while now... They had a few conventional 'stick built' trailers a few years ago but they're gone now & I haven't seen any FGRV's at the base.

Harvey, at the sale I got mine at there was also a stick built one for sale, along with two Casitas. I have also seen them for sale at Government Surplus Auctions at Government Liquidation at times. Some get turned in there from the DRMO. At my base they sold the stuff directly and skipped the DRMO. Not every base will have molded fiberglass campers but I just wanted to mention it so everyone can check their local base if they can.
For those unfamiliar with DRMO, that is where the military brings excess property for requisition by other units or agencies and if it isn't taken it goes to public sale. Lots of interesting stuff.

So I was packed up and caffeinated, ready to head out to Saskatchewan. I called to make sure it was still available.... it was SOLD!
I had booked off work, so I stayed up and played Skyrim and slept in the next day.
Well at least I now have a budget for the next one.
