i just brought home ny new to me 1976 beachcomber...and i am extremely happy...got it for 1500.00 cdn.....but i have alot of questions...like i just bought the t-tap wiring harness kit...can anyone tell me how to hook it up so my battery will charge as i am driving???thanks guys...keith....i will post a picture soon...

Not familiar with a "t-tap" ... is that a wiring harness to put on your tow vehicle? Usually is a "four wire" plug, right?

Most new cars have access to a wiring harness connection under the back of the vehicle. Crawl under there, and you should see a connector consisting of a male/female plug ...

If you are talking about what I think you are talking about ... and you purchased the correct harness for your vehicle ... you should be able to disconnect the existing harness and insert your plug between them.

Thing is, I don't think the typical trailer harness includes a "hot" charge wire. I think you have to run that separately, from the engine compartment.

flat four is just for stop turn and running lights and ground.
round 6 pin pollack same as above and have a 15 amp hot lead
to run dc stuff in your tailer
round 7 pin bargman same as above w/ 30 amp rate plug

the polack is the smaller silver or the bargman is the larger black depending on how you look at it

7 wire convention
white is ground
black is hot + (for interior lights ect)
green is running lights
brown is right turn
red is left turn
yellow (center) is foreign car brake light (optional) back up lights
blue is trailer electrical brakes.

Glad to see someone else has one of these little gems.
I purchased a 1979 about 2 weeks ago. I have not been able to find any info on them other than they were made in Manitoba.
Do you have any info on them. Total weight etc.
Mine is a T15.
Would appreciate any info you have.
As far as your hook ups I used a 7 pin plug and installed electric brakes and equalizer hitch on the 2000 Jeep sport. Paid 1500 for mine and $850to get the Jeep rigged up to pull it. Doesn't really seem to make sense.
Haven't used it yet but will be on the maiden voyage to the Yukon this weekend. Seems to be very roomy but the sleeping situation is a little tight.
By the way what part of Alberta are you from.
