I have yet to meet anyone that was not impressed with the extra width of my Bigfoot.

Having looked at narrow trailers I'm not sure I could be happy with one.

Having said that I spend most of my time outdoors but in the evening it sure is nice going into a trailer that has room to turn.
Never was much into camping in tents even though I did that most of my life.
I feel like a king in the trailer.

I did a kitchen once in green stained cupboards and brick-like tile, it was trendy and beautiful...Until it wasn't!

Maple can be really nice, that's what Ford used for pick-up box floors. We have an inherited Maple bedroom set from the 40's. As you describe, it is TAN and almost completely grain free, It would be the first furniture in my house to get painted, but I just couldn't!

If you can get all the lacquer off the wood, How about a Teak or Mahogany finish?
Some of my most enduringly beautiful wall clocks are Mahogany, I also have a Dental cabinet, and a Federalist desk made of solid Mahogany each with nice tiny oak inlay. They shine (almost glow) so nicely.

I've seen one Escape dual axle (must have been a 19) in the ticket lanes of the Delaware Memorial Bridge and there's one up the road in York, PA. And according a reliable source there's one getting off the truck in Elkton MD in a few weeks. There was one somewhere around Baltimore a while back. That's a pretty small slice of the right coast so it looks to me that there's an Escape presence here in the mid-Atlantic.

So...what y'all are saying is- what?

Escape gets promoted here because they're selling well? Or do you think that they're selling well because they're promoted here?

Side note:

It's sorta hard to draw any making-inroads conclusions lacking as we do any statistics from other, less-well-adfocused manufacturers...

Over the 9 years I have been a member of this online community, I have had the privilege of seeing/inspecting/comparing most of the makes and models represented. Each current manufacturer has strengths and weaknesses, and I've observed that they all shine; differently than their competition. I don't know how to express it other than MY academy awards:
  • Best 13' = Scamp
  • Best 15' = Parkliner
  • Best 17' = Casita
  • Best 19' = Escape
  • Best 21' = Bigfoot
  • Best 22' = Oliver
  • Best 25' = Bigfoot

Exactly!

See, and when everyone says different trailers for different needs, taste, etc. We are all looking for something different. So my rating system is different than Fredericks. I am sure his is more technical based where mine is more about how I felt when I went in them.

Interior width and height- EggCamper
Most sexy glass trailer I have seen- Oliver
Most solid- Bigfoot

Best use of space, And overall the best at implementing the consumers, wants, needs - Escape

I have never seen a Parkliner nor a lil Snoozy. Parkliner sounds interesting, but the lil Snoozy isn't at all what I would want. Doesn't mean it doesn't suit someone else. Frankly, just like stickies, there are options for everyone looking to buy one. Yes with fiberglass the options are more limited, but still enough to at least find something you like. Still say, see a Escape in person and you will understand!

I place Escape just below Bigfoot.
My reason is the extra space inside.

Bottom line is anything Fiberglass will last, the other makers are fine in my book.
Nothing like being warm and dry in spring or fall.

I think your all nice people even if you don't have a Bigfoot.

When my wife and I looked for a molded fiberglass trailer we each had only one requirement:

My requirement: interior height, (I'm nearly 6' 5").
My wife's requirement: interior feeling of spaciousness (she's claustrophobic).

The clear winner for both of us was EggCamper. We did not have an opportunity to see a Bigfoot, but we did look at the 19' Escape - my head scraped the ceiling, (which I could live with), and my wife found it very "tight" feeling inside, (which she couldn't live with). I have big hopes for the 21' Escape.

Nope, I suspect the reason they sell well is because people see them and see they are a nicely built trailer that fits their needs and within their price range.

They are just not that common east of the Rockies in the U.S.
I have been to 3 rallies East of the Rockies hoping to see an Escape and so far no success

Steve, make your way on up to Osoyoos in June. 82 Escapes registered there.

Or wait until September for the Niagara Wine Escape at Niagara Falls. There will be at least one 17', 19' & 5.0, all of which live East of the Rockies!

Thats pretty well how they stack up for me as well but I would add one more:

Oxygen - Coolest looking!
Sadly the inside of the Oxygen doesn't have the same cool factor although a member here has done an amazing job on putting the cool factor/usable factor into the inside of theirs. I just dont have the time/skills to do that.

I wouldn't read to much into the lack of Escapes at rallies in certain parts of the USA. When I registered my Scamp 16' in BC six years ago the BC government run register had never registered one in BC before - only one 13'. How many years had Scamp been making trailers in the US by then and how popular of a fiberglass trailer in the US are they? Same with Casitas still only a handful of them in BC even with the easier import rules.

But be warned when an Escape eventually does show up at a rally near you, you can be sure that next year you will probably be seeing more of them at the same rally. ;-)

In talking with Oliver, and a few owners, I was truly impressed with high level of quality that went into these trailers. I think they do look great from the outside, but the cheap white plastic looking interiors is not to my liking. Either was the price, which was what mostly turned me away though.

I am glad to hear they are going back into production, nice to have a high level of competition out there.

Full circle back to the original question Why Escape?....
Nice trailer if you can tow it, and it helps make an oversized tow vehicle look proportionate.

My wife and I spent a week last September on the Canadian side of the falls and would love to return . I never realized how many beautiful vineyards there were in that part of Canada . The hospitality of the Canadian people was another plus . Maybe in the future we will find time to return
