I was looking at the photo's of the Parkliner. Its too bad they haven't been around for a while, cause I bet it wouldn't be too hard to cover the ratfur with the thin pine (or oak) wainscotting they sell at the big box stores, only a 1/4" thick, pull and remount the windows so it looks nice...all varnished up nice and shiny! I wouldn't mind a trailer like that.

Yeah Donna, that is a beautifal trailer. CJ did a fantastic job! It does give a person ideas! Im familiar with what she used, I redid the interior of a boat that way...fiberglassed in some 1x2's then used stainless steel finishing nails to secure it to the 1x2's. the cabin looked great!

Its amazing wha a creative person can do!

Deryk, the inside looks cool. What does the outside of the Vardo look like? Is it a trailer or permanent structure?

Thanks Danny, its a trailer, I towed it about 3900miles this year, which is why Im looking for something I can stand up in and have a toilet(although I was seriously thinking of building a small cabinet to hold a tiny portapottie). I designed the back compartment to hold my table and chairs and cooking gear... the propane heater is vented through the ceiling for winter camping and I insulated the vardo with 1" foam board so it stays real warm.

Last winter I staid out in it at my friends place and it dropped to 16' that night. He asked me if I was sure I didnt want to stay inside, and I said I would be fine. I woke up toasty warm, get dressed head into the house and he forgot to turn his furnace back on and the woodstove went out during the night and was freezing in the house lol. Im glad I stayed in the vardo lol.

With the kitchen in back like that, it reminds me of a high end tear drop design. I like the colors. Thanks for sharing. Are you going to paint your fiberglass trailer that color?

Thanks... heh no, maybe when it gets older but I store it at my parents house and they are not thrilled with the way it looks. Im putting it for sale since I was told I can only keep 1 trailer their, they dont want it to look like a used car lot.

I am giving serious thought to a custom awning, one of the track slide in kind with fringe and all though...I dont care for the look of the standard awnins the put on the scamps and casita's. I am thinking about adding a wood interior similar to my vardo just to break up the fiberglass look a bit.

Thanks Robin, yeah I luv my vardo, and had a blast in it ....towed it about 3900 miles this year... it totally beats sleeping in a tent and much easier to setup when you get to the camp site. But I want a little more room, standing headroom... and a shower to rinse off the grime from bein out in the heat all day before going to bed.

I plan on trying to cook outside, but if its raining or real cruddy outside I would rather then cook inside. Not that I eat much anymore... but must have coffee in the morning lol!

Ooooh so sorry Cyndi, yeah that is another negative and at like $900 dollars to replace I really like the track awning ones. I could sew it myself if I want, I have an industrial walking foot machine meant for upholstery and canvas so It wouldn't be too complicated for me... just the time factor and materials.

Yeah, we guys have our own ideas about 'glamping'. Nice wood paneled interior, a big bass mounted on the wall, a glass-front heat stove so we can watch the flames (gas logs will do). Camo curtains and bedspread (mossy oak, maybe?). Hmm, what else can we do to decorate it in manly style?

Yeah, especially since these little fiberglass egg's are insulated. My boat wasn't. I added some where I could but not enough. I am a bit leary of unvented heaters. I know people use them all the time, but I would for sure have a co2 detector and an open window near me as a just in case.
