How high is high?
In Southern California, budget parks start at around $35 a night... and most are over $45 a night.
The "High Dollar" parks here are over $60 a night... and they're usually full.

Hi: Emmitt G...Being mobile there's always a WiFi connection at a Library or maybe a Cafe with a latte and a chat eh!!! It's strange how the "High Dollar Parks" have free WiFi ???

Emmitt, depending on the area your looking to camp, the campground may not have Wifi. But most do now days. There are very few non-wifi campgrounds anymore. I wonder if their info needs updateing. Hmmmm, cause there was such a push for them all to get on board with wifi years ago. But like suggested there usually is a hot spot somewhere nearby.

Emmitt - another option to lower the cost it CampClub USA or Passport America. We are CC USA and they are are straight 50% off the park's rates. Not all belong, of course, and there are restrictions (holidays, weekends, high seasons, etc.), but when you DO use it they save money.

We use a blend of CC USA, state parks, BLM (free) and just regular parks to develop a blended cost. Will report back with another post - we JUST got in from 7 weeks, as soon as I pull the ##'s together, will post our average cost.

Re Wi-fi, do not overlook McDonald's. They have an aggressive plan to implement WiFi in many, many restaurants. We have sat in their parking lot and taken care of our 'net needs for the day. SOMETIMES they are better than libraries. Also, ASK in a local community - if there is a visitor center or such just WHERE the hot spots are. Sometimes they can help.

Happy Trails... Alan
