Couldn't you just photoshop your Scamp?
It looks real though, do you think it could be?

Would you need a CDL to haul that baby? Are there restrictions of trailer length (53' for semis?) And roads it could be driven on? Where the heck could it be parked? Natl & State parks have limits, as do RV Parks. Bout the only place is a truck stop. To each his/her own. I'll stick with my 16 ft Casita.

I think I have seen that one in the first post...is this the one with the tray that comes out the bottom to park a car?

Jon,
Thanks for the tip. I think that one is bigger than my house. I will head down tomorrow to check it out.
Cheers, john

Think that's an Olds Toronado - front wheel drive.

FWD is why it works in this application. Also used as the basis for a somewhat more conventional Class A with a molded fiberglass shell...no?

I'm wondering if these giant 5-ers are for recreational travel or full-time living by people whose jobs require them to live in the field and move regularly, probably people in management positions. The one I linked in the Craigslist ad, for example, had a very large office space.
I'd guess very few campgrounds and RV parks can accommodate units of that size. On the other hand, oil companies and others with large field operations often build trailer parks for their employees.
I'm guessing people with that kind of job get a decent housing allowance, making the cost of these rigs secondary.

big rigs
every once in awhile on I70 I see the nice 5ers being pulled by an elaborate tug. Some are semi-tractors and some are tugs made especially made for pulling a 5th wheel.
I saw some dandies in Alaska they were way above my pay-grade but then anything above 5k for a rig excites me then we get into the 500k rigs. On our trip to the Az. desert those big rigs almost out numbered the small guys!
Life must be good!!

On our last trip of the Fall, we stopped overnight at an RV park in Montana. In the next row from us, there was a big fifth wheel with lots of slide-outs. One of the slide-outs had a slide-out in it! Sorry, I did not think to snap a picture.

SpaceCraft Mfg makes a 57' fifth wheel as well as a 51' model with 6 slides, and a very serious "Toter" to pull them with. I suspect you might need a oversize permit to move the 57' trailer, but someone must buy them. Check the website since I suspect you won't see to many of them in a National Park!

wasn't the spacecrafts factory outside Kansas city at one time. I used to go down i70 and would see it.
I cannot imagine pulling a 57f trailer

John. No need to apologize for the good old song with a great "twang". Thanks for sharing a very fitting song.
