I phone or Ipad APPS
Has anyone ever tried the Camp Finder app from Camping Road trip? If so what do you think about it is it worth the $2.99 price?
Another one I am looking at ,but cann't decide on is, RV Companion..it looks interesting and I think it would come in handy. I would like to hear from someone that has tried it before I spend the $4.99....if you have it or know someone that does please tell me what you think.
I know that the Camp Finder app can be bought for Google Play or Amazon apps as well as Apple Store.....I am not sure if RV Companion
is anwhere but Apple store.
Thanks

You can get "Oh Ranger Park Finder" from LL Bean, free. It doesn't find everything, but then again, it's free.

While you have to pay for it (I believe it is $9.99, but since I already purchased it, the $ doesn't show at the app store) Allstays Camp & RV app is my favorite.
I have Camp Finder, but don't use it as much as Allstays.

Allstays seems pretty complete in its campground listings. I think it was $5 or $6, and I'm glad I got it. It does need an internet connection to work, though. If anyone finds an app that does not need a connection, I would like to hear of it.

That Allstays looks pretty darn good, and they also make one for Walmarts that will let you stay a night.

I have an Android. There is one called wecamphere.com that is pretty good. There is a cost for the app but a free access on line.
We Camp Here | Where happy camping begins.
Don't know if there is an iphone version.

While not an app, going to RV Park Reviews on your phone's browser is a good way to check parks. The Allstays "Reviews" button does a Google search for reviews of the campground & RV Park Reviews is usually near the top...
A couple of other camping apps (I have far too many!) are Woodalls, Campwhere (excellent for finding BLM & other public campgrounds), and RV Parking (which is the RV Parks app).
If you like to hike, AllTrails is useful. Don't forget that you can use Google Earth to check the layout of a campground...

I would add an app that is near and dear to me. GasBuddy. It provides gas station prices based on either location (closest to you) or a city whose name you enter. Very handy and will often find similar prices, however there has been a number of occasions that it will point out a station one mile down the road with much lower prices.
I also use their trip planner, unfortunately that will not work on the phone, you must connect to the web inside a browser. My iPhone will not let me plan a trip, it launches the mobile version of the software which does not have that feature. However if I launch inside my iPad it will give the full version including the Trip Cost Calculator. The planner will recommend fuel stops based on price.
It is also fun to look at the Gas Price Heat Map, a county by county (grainier if you like) color chart of gas prices. Very interesting indeed.
