If a Tree Falls

If a tree falls in the woods would you hear it? If one falls in your yard and you don't hear it the answer must be no. Sunday morning I woke up to the creek running through my yard. Today it was a tree.

We were hoping for a total demolition of a shed that should be torn down but I don't think the tree got the job quite done.

That is going to be one bare spot. My son told me yesterday "Mom, I think the trees leaning." Nah. It was.

Did you suffer damage to your bridge?

I have also been concerned for the bridge since the very first post.

Everybody's concerned about the bridge. But what about the tree? Maybe it had acorns. And grand-acorns.

The little bridge is fine. I think? Can't hobble through the water to see. It has as much of a story as the house. Got to get the tree out of the creek before it re-routes it.

Looks like the roots were undermined, probably didn't come down very hard or fast, so probably not a lot more noise than the rushing water. Just consider it a gift of free firewood.

You can always try to pull it back up with the ground so soft and stake it up right, might still be alive.

Slow fall. Just went gracefully. Heard a couple of pops in the night like branches falling. Will have to get the trunk out of the creek at least for now. Maybe if I leave the tree there I won't have people visiting the park walk through my yard.
