Vicki, praying for an easy surgery and a speedy recovery. Seems early enough to cure the cancer and get you out on the road for the summer camping season. Terry

Ian and Vicki,

So sorry to hear your news but glad you caught it early and have a good prognosis! Agree with Bobbie Mayer, they've made huge advances in laparoscopic surgery! Take care and keep us posted, our thoughts and prayers are with you!

Dave & Kathie

PS Dave says to tell Ian he'll buy lunch in April

Vicki, Prayers from another cancer survivor here (double breast cancer). Hopefully with stage 1 they have caught it early, can get it all out and you will be fine and camping for many years to come. I believe you will do just fine.
Keep us informed on how you are feeling. I am sure you must be scared right now, but There are lots of people walking around with only one kidney. Once surgery is behind, you can relax and enjoy life again.
Paryin for a fast and easy recovery!

Best of luck, Vicki. Hope the radiologic studies permit them to go with a laproscopic procedure -- much easier on the system -- and thank goodness for National Health Care. (Sure wish wish we had that here.)

Hi Vicki, I had the exact same diagnosis in December 2009, and laparoscopic nephrectomy in February 2010 and all went very well! I was back at the office for half days within 3 weeks, and fairly functional within a couple months. By the may long weekend I was already getting the trailer ready to hit the road for our first long trip of the year.

Luckily, with a bit of a slower swing I was even able to take the golf clubs along as well!

You'll do great coming through this and thank god for early detection!

Yesterday was my 1 year anniversary of my surgery and I can tell you I feel no different with one kidney than I did with two.

Best if luck in your surgery and recovery afterwards.

Trevor
