Has anyone used a CRV to pull a 13' or 16'? I looked on the Honda site, and it said No.

Tia.

I've been pulling my 13 feet Trillium with my Honda CR-V. There is absolutely no problem. You don't even realize, most of the time, that you have a travel trailer behind you.

If you have a look in the owners manual it says that you can tow up to 1,500 lbs (in Australia, double the figure!) if you have an automatic transmission (less without).

I also checked with the dealer if a transmission cooler was necessary. They do not recommend it in as much as you are within the limits and drive without the cruise contoll in montagnous areas.

I've been going to Florida (I am for Quebec) last december and averaged 20 milles per gallon (14.5 litres/100km). That was à 3,100 mile ride.

I have an Element. Same car.. but uglier (Identical tranny and engine)

No problems.. and I DO have a cooler. Also electric brakes.

I tow a 13 foot Burro.

Ditto. I Pull a 13ft Scamp with a Honda Element/CRV. Scamp weighs 1550 last time we had it on the scales. We also have electric brakes. No problem with power or stopping and it feels well within its limits going down the road. I have towed larger trailers with larger tow vehicles that felt a lot more squirrely than this setup. Going on 15,000 miles with this combo. I do not recommend towing a 16ft with either the Element or CRV. I Pilot maybe?
