Is Casita Putting Roof Air On All Sizes?

I was at the Casita website and I noticed in the photos that all of the units, even the 13' had A/C on top. Previously, the A/C was on top only in the 17' or so I thought.

I'm not seeing it, Cathy. The exterior photos of the Patriot don't show a roof AC and the second interior photo shows the traditional front mount installation. The only 16' pictures I could find are here, and the third exterior photo clearly shows a front mount AC through the open door. The options list for the 16' model also indicates front mount AC.

I see it on the home page: http://casitatraveltrailers.com/ Watch the photos as they change.

I couldn't find the A/C listed in the options. I'll go back and look.

I guess all the photos on the main page are of the 17' just looking smaller depending on the angle.

They're all 17'ers. They are Casita's bread and butter. They sell very few of the smaller units.

I found "front AC" listed in the options for the 16'er, but, oddly, not the 13'er. Pretty sure it's an omission. It's also interesting that the AC picture in the Patriot gallery is mounted under the front sofa, a layout that has been discontinued. Just shows that Casita is too busy making trailers to keep the website up-to-date.

You can identify a 17' model by the flat door, larger sliding rear window, single-level floor platform front to back, and a more pronounced trolley riser in the roofline. And, I still believe, roof-mounted AC.

Just curious... are you considering one of the smaller Casitas?

Thanks, Jon. That has been helpful. I prefer A/C not on top. Totally personal preference and not a deal breaker. I like the 16' but you don't see them used very often. I am still pondering my options. None are perfect but I want to get as close as possible to my idea of "perfect".

My Scamp, and my idea of a "perfect" (for me) FGRV do not have roof A/C.. The side A/C has worked fine for us so far.
