I am thinking of buying a new Scamp from the factory if I can't find a used one. Is their pricing like car pricing, where nobody pays the sticker price, or is a no haggle type deal?

Thanks,

Eric

They sell every single trailer they can make. I haven't heard anyone was able to negotiate on the stock trailer. Negotations may be possible on the options, but I wouldn't count on it.

Cars are sold the way they are due to their Dealer Networks, who give up some profit in order to make a sale. Most Fiberglass trailers are sold "Factory Direct" without the "wiggle room" in the price that a Dealer Network requires.

That is pretty much what I thought, although I didn't know the reasoning behind it. Thanks for the quick response.

Don't know if they are still doing it, but there used to be an annual sale time at both Casita and Scamp.

Donna, we know they are selling every unit, but we don't know what the final price on each is.

I would try negotiation, esp on a unit that is already built and sitting in inventory -- Never hurts to try!

Earlier this year we visited with a fellow in Tennessee who has a business renting Scamp 13's. He said he asked the folks at the factory if he could be a dealer. Answer: nope. He asked if there would be any "volume discount" if he ordered several trailers at the same time. Answer again: nope. As Donna D stated, they are able sell every one they put together and have no need to bargain for more business.

Happy hunting for a 'pre-loved' FGRV in good shape. We wish you safe travels and many happy memories - you will love your Scamp or whatever !!! L 'n D
