Is the Trillium Jubilee a poor cousin?
If this isn't he right forum to post this, my apologies. I recently found and purchased a Trillium Jubilee. We looked at other Trillium models and decided on this one as the rig for us. Why is the cabinet section wood and not molded as the other models? We personally prefer the look and feel of wood and should any maintenance/repair/replacement arise in future it will be a breeze, but was it a cost cutting approach to make a cheaper built unit in the day ('79)? Info on Jubilees is quite limited. Just curious. We're thrilled to get it.

I sold mine this week.
I have no exact information, but I believe that Trillium Jubilee was only built in 1980.
I have some documents of this caravan but they were found on Web, nothing when I acquired this one.

HI Mike ..... we got our 1980 Jubilee in 2012 and with the cabinetry being wood were able to redo it to suit ourselves.
Being a Carpenter / Joiner by trade I was able to gut approx 80% of the interior and completely rebuild it to a much brighter appearance plus I was able to maximize the use of the available volume in the trailer by utilizing every little nook and cranny.
No disrespect to any other trailers with the traditional fibreglass cabinetry but, I personally, wouldn't have been able to do what I did with that type of interior.
So, if you are a little bit handy, you can do virtually whatever you want in your Jubilee.

I do have lots of pics Gilles and will dig them out but it will take a little while as we are heading out with the Jubilee for a few days just below the line at Bay view State Park in Washington State.
I did post some pics as I was working on the Jubilee. I don't know if you can still find them if you do a search under 'peatle' - bon chance !

Bay View. Cool! Our very first night camping with our new trailer was there.

The 5500 was also made only in 1980 and 1981, and was all wood cabinets.
Cost saving could have been a reason, also probably easier for the manufacturer to offer different floor plans or modify them. Easier to built a different wood cabinet than make a new FG mold.

Very nice ... we were in Lynden Washington late last year and were in a site next to a guy from Iowa ( I think ) that had just picked up an Escape in Chilliwack.

Makes sense ... glad they did this as it worked out well for me. We were at the BC meet at Fort Langley a little while ago and enjoyed seeing what everybody else had done with their units as well as sharing our ideas.

Lots of idea stuff here guys. Carl, if the 5500 was 80-81, where did the Jubilee fit in this? I've heard (and not just here) that the Jubilee was made 1 year only, being 1979. Peatle, does you rig say Jubilee on the side?...or is the 5500 in fact a Jubilee but with a name change? And then the owners saying they have '78's....

No, the Jubilee and the 5500 are different beasts. The Jubilee is like a square 4500. The 5500 is 18' long and has the more round shape of the 1300, and 4500's. It does have a wood interior though.

Our Jubilee does have the name on the side - see attached pics.
If the 5500 is a renamed Jubilee. I would think it would have that rectangular 'bulge' on the curb side. Does anyone know what that was for ?

I have often wondered about that bulge as well, I though it was for a furnace, but I have never seen on installed there, maybe a water heater?

So, with yours being an '80, and the one I have a '79, both with the Jubilee script on the side, maybe they really were built 79-81. Anyone else with a Jubilee vintage 1981? 82? 78? Just trying to narrow this down

This I have sold last week was exactly like Peatle Jubilee, and was identify 1980 on the registry.
