This is some damage on a Burro door. Is it as bad as it looks?

There seems to be a discrepency about the year. Can anyone venture a guess by the windows, hinges etc?

Rockguard seems pretty worn out to have only supposedly been used twice in it's life and stored under a carport the rest of the time.

Lets just say the History keeps changing as does whether the owner wants to sell or not. She is elderly so not sure if it's confusion or......

It was discovered the tags were just renewed through 2012 and the tires are in good condition so that also doesnt jive with the statement it's been sitting for decades as they only used it twice. The actual story is being pieced together here and there.

At least it has the rock guard, I haven't seen many of the Burro rock guards. It can all be fixed if the selling price is right.

Well, that changes along with if she wants to sell it or not. A member showed up today for a serious deal and the owner backed out yet called later leaving a message that she will call back to discuss it on Weds but in the past she hasnt called back so not really sure.

Is the screw repair part of the horror stories I've read about Burro Doors falling off b/c the wood in there has rotted? I dont even want any part of that.

Thats not really too huge a problem though I know it sounds scary.
It is fairly simple to build it back up inside the jamb and then once done the door can be duct taped where you want it and re-attached to the jamb.

Sounds like fun!

To tell you the truth I can't even tell what your door pictures show?
The perspective gives few clues and I can not make them any larger so it is a little mystifying to me.
From the outside pic of the door it looks like it hangs correctly to me.

Exact year? That style was built from the late 1970's to the early 1980's.

The member who is checking out the trailer sent them to me. They said it's "that screw "repair" was on the upper left interior door hinge, a few inches below that ugly crack. I wonder if they're related?"

The crack is above the door I believe.

The door horror story is all about the top hinge and the area immediately behind it. That screw is above the door, just in a spring stop to keep the door from being caught in the wind and slammed against the body of the trailer.

Ya but what do you suppose caused it and is this kind of repair worth the $4000 she wants out of it? There is also and ugly rusted gate style lock on the outside which I guess they padlocked it so it needs to be removed and the holes filled. No A/C, water pump, grey tank, just an icebox. Pretty plain and simple so I'm thinking it's a bit much. There is an antenna thingy "she thought it was an umbrella????) that would have to go as well. Let me find that pix....

Apparently at one time it met with a strong wind just as somebody opened the door; strong enough to rip that screw out cracking the body in the process as the door slammed open against the body on the outside.

It doesnt overpower the Fiberstream like it does the tiny Burro but if it works well I might could live with it, lol.

How old is the seller? and has she recently been widowed? $4,000 seems a little high to me, but I spent $2,500 on a 39 year old egg.

Yes, she was widowed last year and said they paid $5000 for it 2 yrs ago. I'm guessing maybe 70's or 80's? Now a family member supposedly wants it....
