I have seen something like that in a magazine many years ago - it actually goes on a CAR (not a station wagon) - back when "A CAR" was a Ford Galaxie, Chevrolet Bel Air, Dodge Monaco, Plymouth Fury etc

Somewhere on this forum there is a thread about exactly this camper, with photos on a vehicle.

And to trigger your interest, here are three other car campers. Sorry the first one is a stickie but the other two are Yurpeen molded fiberglass campers. Number 2 is a Saab Toppola that replaced the hatchback car's hatch, but was a factory-approved extra, while number 3 is a one-off on the then largest Yurpeen Ford sedan by a sports car maker, Ginetta.

Brings back memories of carrying a pick-up mounted camper on a light-duty half ton. Wind gusts were "entertaining" (pucker factor was right up there)

It really isn't that roomy, but it is unique!
