cold is relative

if I've learned one thing in my travels it is that we all get used to our own level of cold, and the longer we stay somewhere the more we adapt to the local temps. Most days i love the beauty of winter and boy do i sure appreciate the other seasons after a long cold spell.

All that being said, i thought I would share a pic from this morning. While my daughters were waiting for the school bus, they thought they would have a little fun on the swings... good thing there was a soft landing!

My Azaleas bloomed about 2 weeks ago and the Chicasaw plum is blooming right now. I think it's around 2 degrees Fahrenheit.....in the freezer. Of course, come summer, it will be hotter than hell!

Everybody talks about the weather, but no one does anything about it.

It is a sunny 10C, or so, today. It is going to be a good night for a camp fire.

Wayne,

You may be able to walk on water (ice) shortly.

That is interesting Norm and I often wondered if it would ever happen. I just took this shot from the back window and you can see a rare sight. Lots of ice on Lake Ontario.

Wayne,

There's an interesting post following the article showing the altitude relationship of the lakes, something I never thought about.

I didn't realize Wayne that you could see the lake from your house, nice!

Now the only ice I have seen lately is in the freezer then into our drinks. Funny how one does adjust to the weather. We have been in south TX for 3 weeks now and they are calling for mid 50's on Tuesday and we are complaining. Mid 50's at home we would never see in
February!

Adrian

The Pacific NorthWET is going to be in a drought later this year. Although we're getting all the rain we need, we're not getting the low tempertures to build snow pack.

I love the current weather. But we'll pay for it later (like we are going to be on fire... crap)

My sympathies to those that have more snow than you can deal with, honest.
