How is the snow at Whistler? My daughter, husband, three handsome grandsons are all headed that way from Florida for grandsons to see snow for first time, learn skiing, snowboarding, etc., for a week in a couple of months. You mean...no snow?

Great reminder of my days in SW Colorado -- there was usually a thaw in January or February, as I recall. Isn't it nice to be able to get out for an adventure in January? Where was your picture taken?

We're having our usual central Texas winter: balmy days in the 70s followed by a cold front with temps dropping to somewhere between the 30s - 50s, and this cycle repeats, repeats, repeats!

Worse than last year which wasn't great!!! But better than the 3 local Vancouver mountains for sure. Although last year Whistler did get some nice big late season dumps that were pretty nice - hope the same happens real soon. It rained at Whistler pretty well all of last week-end top to bottom - not good - bare spots everywhere - inside and outside the fences - so rock skis are a must for those who go up. If we get a cold snap which doesnt look like its going to happen anytime soon & no new snow it will be like skiing on a frozen pond.

To give a better picture of the situation, Whistler is still trying to sell discount Edge Cards to attract biz - normally they cut the purchase of those off in late November early December.

The Webcams unfortunately don't tell the whole picture - just how many folks are on the mountain, which as you can see are pretty minimal for this time of year due to the skiing conditions.

Edit to add: John its hard to say if there will be or will not be snow at Whistler in a month or so.... anything can happen. As I said last year we had some real big late season dumps that made up for the early season short fall. I do know the situation is pretty well the same all the way down the west coast - the big ski towns in California are also suffering.
