I can see listing it. Somebody might want to tear it apart for salvagable parts, scrap and the basic trailer frame (if it's still straight). But if it were me, I'd start with a REALLY low opening bid and no reserve.

Heck - at the very least it's a way to get somebody to pay you SOMETHING just to be hauling the sucker away. I'd hate to think what it'd cost you to take it to the dump.

Get a load of the Q and A:

Quote:
Q: Are there any major dents or dings?

A: Two pine trees fell the length of the trailer just to the right of center. Yes, there is major damage to the aluminum shell. The air conditioner...

You would need a jaws of life to get into it, and even then, after all that work, it is not likely that anything ISN'T mechanically toast. Even if the mechanics are fine, it was sunk and soaked.

I agree, whats the point? Take it to a car crusher and get on with life. There is a certain point where even the biggest cheapskate and horder needs to give up. This looks like it is there, or darned close.

Not worth the listing fees to ebay it.

I believe that the ad says that "there was no flood damage" - that would make a big difference to the salvage value of components.

If one of our eggs were damaged in this way, I could easily imagine people saying "well, the shell's a goner, but I wonder if it has the same model furnace/heater/stove/whatever as mine?"

I hope that the right buyer is found (although apparently not in this eBay listing) so both the buyer and the seller walk away better off than before. My guess is that the seller is facing a tough market for an item with high transportation costs in an area with lots of salvage material to choose from.

Information is good. Lack of information is not so good, but misinformation is much worse. Check facts, and apply common sense liberally.

I have never heard of a dry hurricane. (Unless you count the Santa Ana winds )

Tree hits trailer, rain falls in.

It may not have been in a flood, but for sure, it was flooded from above. In oregon this december, I had pinhole leaks in what seemed like huricane weather (But I am sure it was no where near it). My floor was flooded just from the drips.

Fortunately, I was able to keep up with it and incurred no damage. This thing sitting unattended for sure got soaked.

That in itself makes it a health hazard not worth even looking into.
