Keep Hoby Melton in your prayers.

Last week after attending the Sebring Scamp Camp and while visiting his sister Ruby in Memphis, Hoby's beloved wife Barb passed away in her sleep. She was a victim of heart failure. I met hoby and Barb on my way to the Sebring Scamp Camp five years ago. Since that time we have camped together on several occasions each year. On Fat Tuesday Barb placed a beaded necklace around my neck as was her custom to do so each year. We shared many campfires and I drank many cups of her coffee while in Florida. She cooked hot dogs over a campfire for Hoby and me on her last night at camp. The day she left she gave me a hug and reminded me that she would see me at Roy's Fish Fry in May. She truly loved camping. She served as one of the co-host at the LBL Fall Rally. She was the inspiration for the morning campfire and the smores party on the last day. Last year she conducted an excellant workshop on fire starter making at LBL. Barb was a very religious person and she was very comfortable with her beliefs. She was cremated and Hoby and her family will take her ashes to Lake Superior in August. She loved Lake Superior and this was one of her favorite camping trips. Please keep Hoby and his family in your prayers. Every time someone close to you dies, a little bit of you dies with them. I can not express how much I will miss her. The LBL Rally and camping in general will never be the same. We never know what the next day may bring.

Very sorry for Hoby's and your loss. Barb sounds like a wonderful person that we all would have loved to camp with. Another reminder to live every day like it is your last.

Dennis, I've never met Hoby or Barb or you... but thoroughly understand. Remember one thing FOREVER IN YOUR HEART.

My condolences to you, Barb's family and friends and of course, Hoby.

We had the privilege of attending the memorial for Barb Melton today.
The place was full of color and ballons and grandchildren!
The place was full of life and celebration!
Though Barb's family and friends will sorely miss her, they were celebrating!
There was no sorrow extant in that room today. There was only celebration of a life lived to it's fullest, surrounded by those she loved and who returned that love full measure, pressed down and running over.
No need to grieve for Barb, who passed in her sleep and has happily moved on to further experience her salvation.
Our hearts go out to Hobie who must now miss her daily presence, her abundant joy, and her pleasant smile. Also to her family and friends, who must also live on in her absence.
We feel sure that they will ultimately be sustained by their memories of her, and the assurance of an ultimate and joyous reunion.
