Great Pictures

[QUOTE=Brad Garland;517963]Hi, I just joined this forum because a friend pointed me to this thread about the Kimberley Karavan off road trailer from Australia.

I imported the first one to the US back in 2011 and love it. There are currently 4 Kimberley Karavans in the US.

I love mine and would be happy to answer any questions you may have.

If you browse the Camping Trips photo galleries on my website you will see all the wonderful places I take mine.

Brad,

Absolutely great pictures. These pictures should make everyone want to hit the road, probably with you and see what you see. Fortunately we've been to some of those places. It would be nice if there was a location on each picture.

I would love to see some shots of your rig and tow vehicle and thank you ever so much for providing a look into your world.

I'm working my way thru Kimberley's books. They have a fresh perspective on possibilities.

The rig I saw was brought to the USA from the Netherlands for their travels. They were towing with a Land Rover.

I don't need to wish you joyous travels, you have them.

I need to say something about Brad's pictures at Brad Garland Photography.

They are wonderful and make my heart jump with joy. They are really worth looking at and should make everyone wish they could be with him.

Yes, I had heard the 4th Karavan was brought in by the couple on their world travels. Nice way to see the world.

Here is a link to my Karavan thread on the Expedition Portal Forum:

There are several photos of my 4Runner tow rig and trailer scattered around my website. Here are a few of them.

Coming out of Lead King Basin in Colorado.

Just relaxing.

Thanks,
Brad

Thank you for the kudos on my photography. I has become a bit of a passion for me.

Hopefully it will pay for my travels once I retire from my day job next year.

Here are few more pics from a trip to Alstrom Point on the North side of Lake Powell.

Just like car racing helped improve the automobile, they push the limit of what their trailers can sustain. That Kimberley Kruiser is water resistant (water proof with right operation) to about 4ft (1.2m) for water crossings.

Really the only unknown would be how they perform in cold weather.

I have camped with my Karavan down into the low teens with no problems. For the ones they import to the US they insulate all the exterior water lines and even have membrane heater between the skid plate and rear water tank to keep it from freezing.

I have learned that I need to close up my outside kitchen at night or the water faucet will freeze up but that is no big deal and probably a good idea anyway due to critters that may be attracted to the kitchen.

BTW, I mentioned there are only 4 of these Karavans here in the US. One of them is currently for sale in the Atlanta area. This is very well maintained 2013 Karavan that is only for sale due to the limited destinations that justify a rig like this on the East coast. The owner found all of his desired trips were way out West, miles away from his home base.

If anyone is interested, the for sale thread can be found here:

FS - Kimberley Karavan - Expedition Portal

PS. You would have to pry mine out of my cold dead hands. :-)

Thanks,
Brad
