Came across the following. First time I've heard of a king size bed option in the Casita 17. How so?

> Do any of you here at Casitaclub.com have opinions bad or good concerning buying a Scamp 19 instead of a Casita 17? The Casita is an attractive trailer with the weight being what I want to tow. However, I just wish there was a slightly larger model. <

We gave the 19' Scamp 5th wheel serious consideration but finally decided on the 17' Casita for 3 reasons: 1) decided I didn't want to deal with a 5th wheel hitch plate mounted in the bed of my pickup 'cause I'd have to remove it whenever I wanted to use my pickup as a pickup; 2) didn't want to deal with climbing up into a queen size bed with limited headroom; and 3) liked the king size bed option with the 17' Liberty.

The Liberty models seem to have that ability. . .

I had posted one of those models in the referral section in July sometime over in TX. First I'd heard of it, but it did have an ability to make into a king bed. Sold pretty quick as I recall. Only one I've seen since that touted it had a king.

We have the Liberty and it gives the option of a King size bed, a double bed, or twin beds.

Here is ours set up as twin beds. You can see that if we put the pads in the middle, it would fill the space and become a King size bed.

Here is a link to a pic of the king bed unmodified and modified similar to Mike's.

The Casita Liberty floorplan is available in both the 16 ft. and the 17 ft. models.

Here's the "Liberty page" from the Casita Enterprises web site.

I don't know how you missed it, Zeb.

Another thing I like about the Liberty arrangement is it has larger side windows. Again, though, this is not without cost, since there is no galley window.

I don't know how I missed it either. Actually, I probably noticed it before but forgot after spending most of my time focusing on the Spirit layout.
