I live in North Carolina. I've never seen a hockey game. I likely never will. Until this week I didn't even know what the Edmonton Oilers was. I barely know what the Carolina Hurricanes are.
Of course I'm not much of a sports fan, at all. When I was a kid, I loved playing and watching sports. But as I got older I lost interest. The folk around here are koo-koo for college basketball. As with hockey, I have never watched a basketball game, except for high school games when I was in high school. Another bunch of locals are wacky for something called NASCAR. I know "NASCAR" is an abbreviation for something...but I'm not sure what, nor do I care. All I know is that I can't go anywhere near the north section of the county in which I live when there's a race going on, because there's a raceway over there called Lowe's Motor Speedway that attracts 300,000 race fans at such times, and the roads become gridlocked. We also have something here in town called "the Carolina Panthers". I don't watch them, either. On weekends I can generally be found camping in my
Casita or hiking to the top of a mountain.
I guess I'm not much good for conversation when it comes to professional sports.
