Lightening and the Giver
Ginny and I used to be big movie goers before we retired. It seems it was a form of escapism from our busy every day lives. Once we began RVing we rarely have gone to the movies, definitely less than twice a year, escaping the every day of the 'others' in our little trailer.
Yesterday we went to the movies, first time in more than a year. Our granddaughter had introduced us to The Giver more than a decade ago, a book about youth becoming an adult in an alternative society/culture.
With 15 minutes to go lightening struck knocking out a nearby transformer. We did not see the end but received a 'rain check'.
The movie is very well done and does give one pause to consider today's world. Two of our middle school grand nieces will be reading the book this year as a class requirement, only seeing the movie after the book.
For us, we'll happily see the first 1:30 over again, always seeing little things we missed the first time.
Nature, even it's relatively normal moments is so powerful.
